97 suburban startup problem

alright so i know someone whose having some problems with their suburban

says it was left started and running for a couple hours then it was turned off and now it wont restart

it turns over but doesnt start

fuel filter was replaced
can hear fuel pump kicking on
fuel is getting to the throttle body
battery was replaced

im thinking maybe its a problem of not getting spark? maybe spark plugs or wires?

any tips or ideas?
