Hello all,

Been a while since I've last posted. I've been busy busy busy with my truck. I think you guys are going to like the direction I'm taking it. Pics will be posted when completed here in the upcoming weeks.

I just had one question regarding some 20x12 wheels.

I tried to search the forum but couldn't come up with anything. If this has already been discussed could someone provide me with a link? If not:

I've been doing some shopping around and found a set that I like, but the guy at the shop said I needed to run 33x13.50s. I've seen a ton of guys on this and other forums running their 20x12s on 12.50 tires, can someone please fill me in? I really like the look of the 20x12 on a 12.50 tire. I suppose the only benefit of running the 13.50 would be so the wheel doesn't sit so flush to protect it from curbs?

Thanks guys

you absolutely can run a 20x12 on a 33x12.5 tire. Guy at the tire shop is lazy and doesn't want your business. Go somewhere else

all this my younger brother works at a tire shop and he says if someones brings in anything smaller than a 55 series sidewall or anything wider than a x9 the guys do what they can to turn them away if not then they just throw your shit around the shop cause its a bitch to put on lol

:uhoh:

Awesome, thanks for the info guys. He was mentioning that it would be "unsafe" because the tire would be so stretched. Let me hear what you have to say about that so I can have my peace of mind back haha.

what a bunch of lazy scumbags

Thanks for your help guys. You're all making me feel a lot better about it. I'm looking to run the 33x12.50 toyo MT's!

Little update, I ended up doing a 1.5" TGC leveling kit and RCX 1.25" BL on my BDS 4" lift, wow that's a lot of acronyms. It looks great, super happy with it. My mirrors have been painted and I scored a set of 20x12 -44 Gear Alloy Big Block 726c. I've got a set of 33x12.50x20's waiting for me at a shop that says they will mount/balance everything for me.

One final question in regards to the 12.50" tire on a 12" wheel…..in michigan we have these things called the silver lake sand dunes. I'm sure some of you have heard about them.

Will I still be ok even airing the tires down to roughly 10-15 psi? I don't plan to beat on my truck, but I would not mind going up some hills and still having fun. I'm a little concerned about losing the bead. Should I go with a 13.50 or at that point will I run into clearance issues? I am already planning to do some trimming, I might even need to do the fender mod..should be close, it sits up pretty good now.

Here are some pics of the mirrors/lift, I'll get some better ones when the new wheels are on.

Here's a pic of my truck (pre painted mirrors and body lift, at this time it did have the leveling kit), my buddy's 13' with a 2.5" TGC and 1.25" BL, and my brothers 15' Duramax

^This. That's probably the best looking set of CM'd mirrors I've ever seen. Don't really have any advice on the air pressure, although I'd probably just play with it around the neighborhood a little to see what you're comfortable with. Just work your way down slowly, a few pounds at a time
