05 CCSB slow build

made myself a lil amp rack...didnt want to put the amps under the seat but with this new box, i had no choice

Gonna send it off to get it engraved with COMP/UP/DOWN under corresponding buttons
 
So after seeing the wireless charging mod and talking to Pat about the "Oktaint mod"....I decided Im gonna copycat him and try to do this on my console lid. I already took off the lid and verified theres room in there...now I just gotta wait on the parts to get here.

Took the lid off the console and removed the 8 phillips screws holding the 2 pieces together and shaved a rib off

I put it back together and I can now squeeze the two halves and can feel a gap between the two.


Once I get the charging pad, I'll throw it in there and see if I have to shave off some of the ribs on the top piece

That's a pretty cool idea, seems like it wouldn't be very effective if you were picking up your phone while driving at all, still really cool

Changed spark plug wires and cleaned the TB n MAF last night....also made a lil progress on the wireless charger mod.

So far it only charges with the slim case on the phone....wont work with my otterbox knockoff.

So Im either gonna cut a small hole on the lid

or Im gonna heat it up and mold it into place from the top, so only the lil plastic mat covers it.

its one of these split open....its a 2 piece design....so ur looking at the inside of the top half, the part where u normally put ur arm if u aint got a W/T.

Am putting a wireless phern charger in there, a la Oktaint

so after trying to get the damn charger in between the lid pieces....turns out it wont charge because of all the plastit in between the pad and phone.....so on to plan B I went. I heated up the center section of the console lid and made a lil hole for the board. Then I drilled a hole to run the usb cable thru. I tested it in this co figuration and it works perfectly.

But I think this worked out good too....was able to make a lil hole for it so the coils are flush with the rest of the lid
