Figured I'd start a thread on here to dump pics of the truck in. :security:

Starting with this:
2004 GMC Sierra 2500 SLT crew cab with quadrasteer (much rare) in silverbirch. 6.0 LQ4. 4L80E. 246 32 spline case. Dana 60 rear. 9.5 AAM front. Beefy enough for what I need!

February 2013 -

Bought it off a farmer down in MS for way too much considering the condition but dngaf.

Truck originally came from cali where the po did a few things like billet grill, corsa catback, 18" boyd coddingtons, etc that have since been raped by said MS farmer.

March 2013-

And now the long process of major clean up and fixing crap begins.

Replaced the dented color matched bumper for a new chrome one, replaced the bezel, added 03+ cap, debadged, cleaned up the hitch area.

Found the bumpstops gone. Ordered the gm performance parts replacements along with a new steering stabilizer.

Got the headlights cleared and wetsanded, still need to buff and polish. Still need to order clear corners and candy tails. Got recon clear cab lights and rear fender markers.

October 2013 -

Shocks, steering stabilizer, and jounces in. Ended up messing up one of the autoride shocks pressing the poly bushings in so I just got some bilstein 5100s. I'll have to replace the rears also and reprogram the bcm to delete the system all together.

Slowly starting to get her back together! Finally got all the center caps cut down and the wheels on.

Welded up about 10 various holes in the bed; some in the most random places, but most from the old drop in bed liner and my slide hammer from pulling the bulkhead back straight, and knocked out most of the dents.

Carrot gave me a hand yesterday putting the bed back on. Cut and buffed the tail lights, clay barred the bed, followed by m105, m205, and wax. Hope to finish the cab and front clip in the next couple of days, install the rest of the new lights and handles and it should be back onthe road!

Clay bar/105/205/wax entire truck finally done! Cab lights, 3rd brake light, and door handles in. Pulled the spears too. Was worried what I was going to find underneath, but was surprisingly clean!

Got the body lift off and suspension tore down saturday. Hope to start back on it this friday when the rest of this crap melts!

Got the RCX waiting patiently in the garage, wish RC offered a ntbd for the 1500hd/2500 trucks, but no luck. Going to run the lift decranked around 4"s until its time for new wheels/tires.

Got most the lift done. Still need to install the sway bar, kicker braces, crank the front a slightly to keep from rubbing and figure out how much lift I want to go out back.

So I ended up with 43.5"ish up front and 42.25"s out back. Didn't get to run it decranked like I wanted, but the cv angles aren't as bad as before so I'm fine with it.

One of my recon led cablights already went out. I'd really like to switch to the gmt900 cablights, but from what I'm reading they're not anywhere close to matching the existing holes.


Still collecting parts for the interior. Got a mint black steering wheel, black gmc airbag, and black carpet. Think I may do black suede door inserts to tie it all in together. But worried it might clash too much or look a little cheesy?

P0455(I think) code popped up and the tank wouldn't vent while filling up. Backing up fuel in the filler neck, causing it to take forever to fill up!
Finally bothered me enough to order the #25932571 solenoid (not the DELCO #214-2082 kit) after coming across GM-Trucks.com - The ultimate General Motors truck, crossover, and sport utility resource Went ahead and put a got a new fuel cap too since the tether on the old one was broke. Cleared the codes and all is like new again. And now I can fill the truck up in under 15 minutes

Bulk update over the last 6 months

Been trying to decide on wheels. Tried to buy Chris's (wicked mayhem) methods and toyos but shipping was going to be killer. Pu a deposite down on some from mrwheeldeal but they were 8 weeks out. Changed to 20x12 exhiles but they pushed out the lead time until end of May so I switch back to 20x10 methods and 305/55r20 mastercraft mtx

March 2015 -

Recently installed some new cablights (ebay) since the POS recons that stopped working after 1 month started warping on me. Also swapped lenses on my headlights to a fully clear lens, installed 5k hids in hi/lo/fogs, added switchback to the front turns, matching leds for drls and 194s, did the 6 high mod along with full time drl, etc. Still plan on replacing the drl with another signal once I pickup some sockets. Also added footwell lights inside and converted all interior lights to led, added rear doorlamps as well but have yet to wire them in. Might go back to full amber signal lights up front.

And this last weekend the rearend finally gave out. Finally going to get around to swapping the rear ends and will most likely pull the transfer case and rebuild/pump rub fix it while its out.

Got crown performance stainless brakelines ready to go on when I pull the rear. Want to do some additional braking upgrades while its down as well but the 8 lug dana 60 quadrasteer axles are odd balls so pad/rotor options are limited.

Started to do the front rotors and pads, but went ahead and tore it all down to freshen it up! There's a few things I meant to do last year but never got around to . Just ordered some Zone upper control arms, new lowerball joints, and misc things. Also I apparently need to grind down the front diff a little more on the driverside, looks like its been making contact with the frame.

Not much progress this week, lots of rain and crap going on. Did pull the front differential. Grinded the fins down alot more, so hopefully it doesn't hit the frame any more, and gave it a quick paint job.

What kind of prep did you do for the bedliner? Just sand and wash real good

First I used a degreaser/wax remover on the clean paint, hit it with medium grit sand paper, touched up any bare metal with #8 acid etch primer (required), coat of prep-sol, scotchbrite pad, then one more good final wipe down with prep-sol.

Take your time in the prep work and it'll turnout and last just fine!

Since raptor liner is sprayed "cold" its not going to bond as good as line-x or any other "hot" sprays, so make sure you don't cut any corners or it'll show up once you start to put it to work!

I used to work at Line-X and we would hand sand then wipe it down with methanol. It picks up all of the dust and such.

That sucks, we used 3" wire wheels on an air sander, to hell with doing that shit by hand :rofl:

Excellent work! You've turned that truck around for the better. What kind of paint did you use on the frame? And the steps to prep it? Mine is similar looking in the before pics.
