What Next!!!

    My current mods are in sig.

    Me and a few of my buddies went down to San Antonio and ran the trucks. Mine ran a best of 14.85@93. Seems a bit slow but I also have a crew cab. Just wondering what you guys though about that time first off. Secondly, I am looking at some new mods! Trying to get some opinions

    Here is what I was thinking:
    243/799 heads and running them to tsp to be decked about .030
    Ls7 lifters with ls2 treys
    New push rods
    Trunion upgrade
    Oe gaskets

    Nnbs/tbss intake
    Injectors ( unknown which ones yet )
    Under drive pully

    So that is what I am thinking about. Does anyone see an issue with the list above? Have items you would add or delete?

    I want to stick with the stock bottom end 5.3 for now. Later on I may punch it out to a iron block ls1, or stay with the 5.3 but run 4.8 Pistons.

    What type of power would I pick up with heads and intake? Would that be enough to propel this heavy bisch into the 13s. I'm not looking to break records but I'd like to be able to run with the camaros and mustangs at the track and not get totally blown out.

    Boost.

    We need to know your budget. It would be much easier to boost your setup and put you well into the 13s, maybe even 12s.

    Or for less you can go nitrous.

    you can swap in a lq9 for like half the cost of boost lol

    My budget is about 2000 unless I sell the Texas edition wheels. If so, then more!

    I want to use boost as the last resort! As far as a 6oh goes! I'd like to max out the the 5.3 first! I like whooping up on people with this little ole n/a 5.3.

    Funny story was I watched a gto run a few passes and realized it wasn't much quicker then my truck, I waited for him to get in the lanes then I asked for a race. The gto was bone stock but only pulled me by very little. It's fun to me to run his heavy ass truck and smoke lots of other trucks and hang with performance cars! That is all I'm looking for, for a crew cab to not get totally blown out by mustangs and camaros.

    In that case, stick to your original plans.

    Have a set of 243/799 heads cleaned up, new cam and all the goodies that goes with it, tbss intake or nnbs intake
