A friend of mine in New Orleans said he knows a guy parting out a 2wd TBSS. He wants about $2500 for the engine, transmission, wiring harness and ECM. So far, he is not willing to sell them separate. Supposedly it has 70k miles on it. Deal or not? My friend claims he can probably get him down as low as $2000. I wish I could get it, but I am broke as fawk. What transmission comes in the TBSS? I just had my 4L60E built 8 months ago.

IIRC the TBSS's came with the 4L65E trans. As far as pricing, depends on the area and what similar setups go for.

Tbss=
Ls2 aluminum 6.0 with 243 heads, 11:1.1 cr ratio,and the 87mm dbw
4L70e.
P.s the trans isn't much better then a 60e or 65e

Imo aluminum blocks..... So what. The weight is very minor
It does have flat tops and should have floating wrist pins.

If you want a trailblazer converter, the SS is not the converter you want, you want the I5 converter from the 5 banger

word on the converter.

But for the right amount of money, you could flip it. I know you aren't buying it for your truck. So, my opinion, if you can get it all for $2k, I say nab it, and flip it for $3700 (asking).

Why you think I wouldn't put a TBSS engine in Le Burban?? :cheeky:
If I could get an LS2 cheap enough, that 5.3 is coming out of my truck. Out with the 5.3, in with a 6.0

Fuck
Looks like this might not happen. The guy found out how much those engines and transmissions actually sell for. Now he wants 4k for the engine, transmission, harness, and ECM. And $3500 is his bottom line now. Fuck that. Too rich for me.

that's why you make moves on deals right when you find them...you don't want to see if he budges. Nab it, flip it, enjoy it.

But the guy still hasn't even offered it for sale yet. He is still talking about it so far. Regardless, I am broke as fuck and couldn't afford it anyways.

well then he is a moron, and you should just move on...how the fuck do you talk about selling something for so long. Either you want to make money, or you want to run it...kick him in the nuts and tell him to fuck off.

I don't even know the guy. He is a friend of a friend. I have been talking back and forth with MY friend about the deal, and my friend was trying to get it from him as cheap as possible. But he is still dicking around and hasn't even pulled the motor yet.
