Well possibly blew my tranny up, sad sad day but this leaves room for an upgrade. Does anybody know of a good brand that I should go with? I don't want too much just a bit of a step up from stock. Also what it would take to convert over to a manual tranny? I know bgray/papagray did it in his single cab so your input would be very helpful and about how much it cost you
You'd need at least the following to convert to manual:
Tranny obviously
Clutch pedal
Clutch master cylinder
5 speed crossmember or make your own
IIRC 4l60e driveshaft will fit or need to be shortened a tad
U joints need to be changed on the tranny side also IIRC
Cut a hole in your floor
Tune
Probably missing a few points but that's the majority of it. A t56 isn't cheap either. At least $1500 for a take out tranny, then getting it built. Or buy a built one for $3500+. Plus everything else on that list.
Imo, on a tighter budget, just go with a built 60E for less than that and call it good.
