So I recently bought a bigger tool box where I can actually organize all my tools instead of keeping them in the shitty plastic cases they came in.

What are u fgts using to organize ur sockets?

was thinking something like this.

Wish I could chime in but not at the point yet where all of that is needed. Don't buy too many tools at the moment since I rent and don't have a place to store them and normally just hit up my dads shop if I'm working on something.

Check out Garage Journal, I've saved a ton of ideas from over there for when the time comes. If I run across something over there I'll be sure to save it and post here for sure though.

Gotcha :shake: I'd never checked it out until lately and have been hooked with all kinds of ideas.

That plywood is interesting, def gets the job done but not sure it would be my cup of tea.

I made something similar to this. I i like it but you have to use it in either deep drawers or a thinner sheet. Downside is for deep well sockets. I just put them on the rail and laid them sideways in a different drawer.

I have the plastic flat stuff with holes but would rather have the stuff you posted in the first post. I have at least 2 of everything and the extra sets are on the metal clips so I can take them to where I am working. Everything else is in the drawers. My other 2 tool boxes have those sets laying it there all messed up

I just have most of mine on Craftsman socket rails. I still have some on the plastic rails that they came on when I bought them.

i have that type but made by craftsman, i fucking love them i have 2 of each set, since i too have 12 point and 6 point. makes grabbing a socket easy as hell because its on its labled peg, and you can tell what one is missing.

^ what he said.

I have the kobalt ones from Lowes and they work great. The sets go on sale occasionally, usually for 10-15 for metric or English. I think I paid 30 for both sets.

the craftsman ones are a little different, they pegs are taller, and have the size on the tip of each. they also make you put the socket end down, because they have a shoulder at the bottom so you cant put a smaller one on that peg.
