Perfect example of the potential of a turbo on that motor:

I was shocked when he hit 73x and the motor held together. Rob keeps surprising everyone with this truck. Granted I doubt it can be easily reproduced reliably, but just showing the abuse they can take.

I had a tr220 and a circle d 3200 in my 4.8 and it was decent. I would do a tsp220 and a 3600. it would be baller.

It's a toss up man. If all you want is a little extra bump and a nice sound then go for it and forget doing heads. Just do cam, springs, rods, headers and tune. But if you know you'll want more power, save the money.

Eventually ill want more power but most likely be 6.0 not turbo.
I just really want to add some stuff to wake this 4.8 up alittle for awhile.

not at all! With my 3.73 gears and 3200 it was definitely not enough stall. I know people that run 4k stalls on 4.8's lol they love loose converters

then slap one in. It'll be a waste if you want good power down the road, but if your fine with that then go for it. Get a Cam kit from Thunder or Texas Speed and Pop it in

Hope you plan on running at least a 3200 stall with that cam.

Sent from my iPhone 4s

Seems like that cam and a 3200-3600 stall are popular in 4.8's.
Like i said i dont really know much about cams, whats needed, never done a cam swap before just been reading threw a bunch of threads. Mainly idk what all i need to do the swap and where to order everything from.

Just call TSP and they'll hook you up with everything you need. Just tell them you want the cam kit and installation kit. Everything you need comes with it. Are you going to try and do it your self?
