Waxed the yukon tonight and as I was wiping the wax off the dust from the dried wax seemed to static cling to the paint. It's a pita to keep going back and wiping off dust from every panel. Why is this is happening and how I can fix it?

Either way really, if you just waxed it the water will run off or just bead up anyway. Just need to dry it off.

Every time you touch your paint figure you are putting charge to it. Especially when waxing. A couple things can help here.

1. If you keep using wax as a LSP, or final product on your paint for protection, get a car battery, and hook up a cable to your exhaust pipe. If you ground it, you can't put static into it.

2. Try switching to using a Sealant instead of a wax. Sealants bond with clear coats and tend to be a little harder to have debris be attracted to it.

I would try to stay away from just misting it with water. It will indeed need to dry. You risk mineral etching from the water without drying. You're right, no sense in washing twice.
