"build" because nothing too serious, just a low budget daily driver

Truck was completely stock and abused when i bought it a year ago.
I explained everything i added/fixed in my intro thread. About a month ago it looked like this

And since then I've
removed step bars
removed plastic bedrail caps and sprayed on new coating about a 1/4" lower than what the plastic covered. the plastic chewed through my paint and ive already had bad luck trying to do bodywork elsewhere on this thing so covering that mess with aerosol bed coating was the easiest fix for me.
'fakesky' handles, look good from 10ft :laugh::laugh:
got rid of bull bar, now my dented bumper and broken valence are super noticable so that'll be dealt with asap

Still need to
move light bar
front bumper lift/fix dent+valence
figure out something for fog lights
fix rockers
wheel center caps
decent clunking noise at low speed/when starting from a stop. assuming steering shaft?
replace tcase input seal
tie up rear diff breather hose that ive been ignoring for the past month or two :suptroopfu:
and maybe recoat the frame if I get really really bored

still cant get over the awesome smileys/pics on this forum

Clunking noise comes from the drive shaft. Remove drive shaft and grease up the yolk part on the shaft where it goes into the transmission. That should take away the clunk.

Very good possibility actually. Just threw the drive shaft in there with wd40 after installing the tcase last year

Well greasing the slip yoke fixed 90% of the noise, stoked on that.

Got a start on the bumper lift tonight. need to get some longer bolts and spacers tomorrow. also epoxied my shitty valence back together and letting that cure overnight before I try to hammer out a dent in the chrome part of the bumper (ya right)

That was a royal pain in the ass. Must've taken the bumper off and on 10 times, and the gaps still aren't totally ideal. Looks much better than before anyways.

Still cleans up alright for a almost 300 km truck. Just don't look at the other side.

Assuming it looks crooked just from the gravel lot I was in. I'll have to throw a tape up and check side to side now to see haha.

Also bought something for the truck 90% of you guys won't like. I'll get some pics eventually

Pretty damn good for rattle can without even wetsanding or buffing the topcoat

Think I'll look for a chrome pull for the tailgate now. Any suggestions? Ebay?

So blower motor decided to stay running with key turned off. Replaced blower resistor and spliced a new connector in.

All seems ok now except fan speed 5 still doesn't work (Has been like that long before the resistor shit the bed).
My guess is the hvac control. Is there anything else to check?

My Denali heads look like shit up close, decided to clear the stock lights and use them again since they're in decent shape. I don't want to just pull the amber reflector and leave those empty clip holes in the chrome housing, looks kinda hack to me.. I'm trying to paint the reflectors silver and see how that looks. Has this been done before? Am I just wasting my time? Lmao

As for clear corners, any particular set to go with?

edit: nope, silver paint looks like complete shit. back to square one

Hot spots aren't as bad as the photo looks. Also the top 2 diodes on HVAC controls aren't working

Little sneak peek at what went down today. Still need to trim and fit a little better, and mount the passenger side entirely. Found them on Craigslist for $40, brand new.

Also put in a new intermediate shaft. Have a feeling I should've replaced the column bearing at the same time though
