shopping for air compressor

well i started looking for a air compressor. I dont want to waste more than $300. need it to take off lug nutsand other shit. i also want to be able to paint with it. im looking to see what you guys recommend,what type and brand. thanks for the help.

my compressor has a little trouble running my impact and other air tools, painting is intermittent, no big jobs. hvlp guns take gobs of air to run

shit i was looking at one like that but 20 gal. so i need something with more hp or bigger cap. of air?

its cfm that i was concerned with. my devilbiss hvlp gun runs right around 14 cfm, so i have to start and stop alot. but with a bigger tank you can go longer. that 20 should work just fine for you.

that looks bad ass. most paint jobs with be small just interior stuff. as for air tools i should be fine?

yea, might have a little problem with some larger sanders, but i dont think you will.

thats a great set. anything devilbiss, binks, or iwata is well worth it. even the harbor freight gun lays down paint very well. i used that for all sorts of industrial painting this summer.

I have a pretty old craftsman compressor that my dad gave me. Check out CL

pretty much like mine, only red

If I were to buy one, I would get an upright to save space

No sir, so I can't attest to whether or would be sufficient, but I'd like to assume it would be for small stuff.

Mine also is quite old and has a leak, but when working with air tools it has to catch up on simple shit. I also probably have it regulated wrong. I never pay attention to what it is reduced to, and the gauge no longer works. It was busted in the move. I'll use it until it craps out on me. We've used it on everything I have done so far. Headers, drop, and suspension parts replacement.

I've got a 30 gallon Dewalt and just using air tools it has to catch up quite a bit. I would never want to try to paint with it.

low HP and low cfm, large tank, just means it will have to drags its ass to keep up. I would hold off
