I've been searching around for a new DD to wheel for the winter since I'm trying to keep the salt off of my RCSB. I was fine with either a nbs/nnbs 4x4 Sierra/Silverado CCSB, an avy or a Tahoe/Yukon, basically something I could put my 2 dogs in. I found this on the local CL over the weekend and bought it last night.

Specs:
- 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe LT 4x4 5.3L
- 138,500 miles (221,600
- Basically stock minus some chrome trim
- Has new water pump, brakes, and freshly under coated for winter in the last 1k mi
- The only thing it needs is a passenger fog light lens

Plans:
- nnbs GMC 20" with 275/60/20 Cooper Zeon LTZ (from rcsb)
- Windshield brow tint 2.5% or 5%
- BlackBear Tune
- Clear signal housings and different tails
- Debadge/Demold and remove steps
- Little bit of PDR for 2-3 minor door dings
- Crank stock keys/swap to ford keys eventually*
- HD hood if I can find one
- Painted flares
- Painted handles
- Painted mirror caps
- Painted bumper plastics
- Painted grille, billet inserts and bow tie

If I could afford a dd, I would want something like a jetta or an accord. Just personal preference.

I've got a 3 mi commute and I come home for lunch so I put a grand total of 12 mi on my truck per day. I grew up on trucks so I don't think I could ever own a car for a daily (I do have a '79 trans am but that will never be a daily). Le gf has a caliber that is falling apart so she will take the Tahoe on really bad winter days since she works out of town but I will drive it for the most part

Spent some time looking for ideas and came across these:

Thinking to start it will look something like this (but leveled, minus steps and molding)

I've always liked the cm look so might end up like this eventually

Looks good. And definitely do a Burban LTZ valance, that's one of the mods I like most on my Suburban.
And it will make a great DD for a short commute. I DD my Suburban and I have a fairly short commute. I use about 1/2 to 3/4 of a tank of gas a week, and I get about 350-400 miles per tank if I can keep my foot off the pedal a bit.
It's also a GREAT road trip vehicle. Most of the time we end up driving my 14 year old Suburban on a road trip versus my wife's 2014 Altima due to the huge amount of interior room. Sure it uses about twice as much fuel on a 6 hour trip, but the trade off is worth it to be more comfortable during the trip (unless money is tight, then we take the Altima to save some coin on gas).

Working on an HD hood already...possibly another complete front end to boot so I could paint it and then swap out. At this point I'm leaning towards a fully colormatched theme with a billet emblem/grille

something along the lines of this:

links dont work. did you sell your old truck to have this as a DD or do you still have it? id say either do a bit lower or leveled since your other truck is lifted

Links should be good now.

I still have the rcsb, it's just not going to be driven in the winter and get beat up by the salt. The hoe will start by being leveled with the stock keys cranked but I'll eventually swap in some ford keys and bring the rear up an inch or 2 as well. Something along the lines of a 295/55/20 AT on nnbs gmc 20s with 1.5" spacers to help push them out a bit.
