Project- air bumper jack

As some of you know i race a dirt sportsman car.

and jacking up the rear of the car becomes a pain in the ass, and you want to keep the rear off the ground as much as you can to know put as much wear on the rear torsion bars.

Anyway, the hot ticket is one of those old air bumper jacks that they used to use back when cars had real bumpers.

i have been looking for one for some time, and found one locally, that was a little more than i wanted to pay, but they are hard to find.

anyway, here is the picture from the CL add,

didnt have much time to work on it last night. but this is what it looks like after some mild cleaning.

My plan for tonight is to spray a ton of degreaser on it, and pressure wash the living hell out of it.

Im not going to pull it appart much more than that, because it currently works fine.

im going to sand it, and paint it semi gloss black, and the wheels will be silver and the lock bracket will be silver. then im going to polish the brass valve. prolly throw some 37 stickers on it as well.

Ill take some progress pictures, as i hope to have it done by the end of the weekend.

That's pretty cool, a friend used to have one and we would fuck with the neighbor that lived in a trailer with it. Would jack up one side of it while he was at work and put extra blocks under it so it wasn't level anymore.
