change it to focus on the center spot only. there's 2 buttons where your right thumb will fall. hit the right one, change it to show only the middle highlighted in the grid, then hit the same button again.

AI SERVO is good if you're shooting sports, but not for everything else. U have it set to that or want to change it and dont know how?

I thought AI Servo was for taking multiple shots of a moving object? The camera continuously adjusts the focus even as you capture multiple frames (as in holding the shutter button down as a car/person goes by).

AI Focus is best for everyday stuff. I'll use multi-shot mode or w/e it's called with AI focus to capture more than 1 picture within a second of my dog if she's fooling around... then keep the best picture. Don't need Servo for that unless you're working with a small F-stop.

Why? Because a smaller F-stop results in a shallower depth of field... meaning that "less" will be in focus... so if you're taking a shot of your dog's face from the front, her nose may be in focus but her eyes will be out of focus. With that it's easy to fuck up if you're taking multiple shots. This is where you select AI focus and keep the AF (auto focus) point on the dog and if your aim is half decent you won't lose focus.

can't get mine to take the 3 pictures at once. i change the setting to it and it doesn't do it

Are you hitting the button once and expecting it to snap 3 pics? If so, I dont think it will do that. What it will do is continue to shoot until you take your finger off the trigger.

I need some help. Been wanting to get myself a decent camera so I can start using something other then my iPhone. A buddy of mine wants to sell me a Sony a380 and comes with 2 different lenses. Anyone know anything about this camera? What should I offer him? Any help and opinions would be appreciated!
