Welp looks like you gotta spend the cash on those instead of the x link. Fuck it might as well look for a full nnbs motor and get the 243 heads too. Seems like this intake can add up quick

Any motor shit adds up QUICK. I was like :eek: in the middle of it all. And I didn't even get into heads, intake, rods/pistons, or machining lol.

^Truth. For the amount of money I want to put into building the LQ4 block I have now, I'm better off buying a complete motor from a builder for a little bit more.

This is the sad truth. as much fun as they are to build, a common motor like the LS can be more expensive to fully build that it is to buy already fully built. For like $4500-5k you can have a pretty hopped up motor that has been profesionally built, tested, and warrantied. if youve got the cash, but maybe dont have the time, experience, tools, room, or patience, a pre-built is the way to go. Hell, I can definitely put together an LS over time, but still might just drop in a crate engine to the '01 someday. Also, the older these engines get, the cheaper and better the pre builds will be.

I did the swap on my 01. I used Wix 33737 Corvette filter to adapt return style to the returnless rails. I used nnbs rails and injectors, and used some injector plug adapters. I also cut the stock map sensor wires and wired in the nnbs pigtail and used that map sensor and hold down clip. I deleted Evap since it's not really necessary. I also modified the stock cable bracket to work with the new intake. I used stock throttle body with FAST adapter and I would highly recommend this setup as I experienced gains at all rpms unlike the torque loss I've heard from some people. I can explain why If necessary.

It all depends on other mods. On a completely stock 4.8 truck, gonna be roughly 12-13rwhp and 15tq. With other bolt ons, tune, cam, better flowing heads, etc., the gains increase tremendously.

I think so. My truck ran like garbage when I swapped because I was now running flex (More flow) injectors and kept getting "Too rich" codes. Once BBP sent me a tune, it REALLY woke up. If you were to run the oem injectors, which you can swap them over to the NNBS rail, then I dont think itd be that crucial.

Lol well I just bought peice by piece and put everything on the intake except my stock TB since it was on my truck. So, when it came time to do the swap, I dropped the new intake in and it was all, snap, clip, cut, crimp, plug, bolt, done.

I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. It was quite simple.
