New here (of course). Name is Mike. I'm married, going on 8 years now. Been working for the same company for the last 20 years as a factory troubleshooter for an equipment manufacturer.

Always looking for ideas for my 03 Silverado ECSB 2wd. Done a few things - Kenwood radio and Kenwood 6.5 speakers in rear doors. I plan on updating rest of speakers sometime. Drive train is stock except for the Spectre air filter. Original wheels had clear peeling and they looked like crap. Found a used set of 02 Sierra wheels and 96ish Silverado center caps (no GMC in middle).

Primarily looking for ideas. I thought about lowering it some, but not sure on how much. I'd like to find some locals so that I can see what a 2/4, 4/6 looks like and rides like. Part of me wants to go with bags. I don't want to loose the functionality of the truck. I'd like to go with a larger 18-20 inch GM wheel. I dabble in car audio. This is my 3rd ECSB Silverado (1st was an 02 2wd, 2nd was an 04 Z71, and this 03). I went, what I called wild, on the 02 stereo. All Sony Xplod - radio, 4- 6 3/4 3 ways, 1000 watt Mono Amp, and a single 10 sub in a Q-logic box that was stuffed full of polyfill. I had a 2nd sub, but never installed it. These days I am partial to Kenwood. Been looking at a Massive Audio Summo 64 as a replacement for the Bose sub. I like to hide components / wires. I would prefer not to use the space under the rear seat. I've worked at a couple of street rod shops as a general mechanic / electrician.

I'd like to remove the side molding and finish de-badging the tail gate. I'm thinking about smoothing the dash bezel and painting it. I'd like to go with either a cowl or ram air hood and possibly a black billet grill. I'm also looking to upgrade the dash gauges (oil pressure is currently out) and I almost can't see the gear selector. Been looking at rebuilt gauges on E-bay that upgrade both the lighting and adds a transmission temp. I'll upgrade the exhaust eventually (looking at single side system, maybe MBRP). Also wanting to change out the foggy headlights and separating tail lights.

Kicker is that with this being my daily driver, I don't want to do anything (right now) to down it. So lowering can wait until I decide how low I want to go or what components to use.

I wasn't sold on the ram air hood anyway; ones I was looking at had a grill but weren't functional. I'm kind of old school, I like the cowl hood with rally stripes. Thought about using the same silver as the rockers for the rally stripes.

Welcome from Ga! I think a 4/6 drop, some nice 20s, demold and some paint matching would look great on that thing! Great thing about most drops is, they can be done over a weekend

Lose functionality by lowering....eh....no....

Everyone will suggest 4/7ish...I'm the oddball. I daily drove a crew cab lowered 3/6 neatly 5 years. Perfect height for a daily IMO. Welcome from GA btw.

Side molding has to go - it is really looking bad. What is the best way to remove it - I'm leery of the yank and pull for fear of pulling the paint off. Is fishing line the best to use?

By loosing functionality, I didn't know how low you could go before the bed floor needed raised.

Now I'll ask the really loaded question- what do you use to get the 3/6 or 4/7 (spindles, springs, hangers, etc.)? I've even thought about bags but not sure about the other stuff needed. I've worked on semis before so some of the air ride stuff is familiar.
