Right now my truck is at like 5.5/8 drop and I'm running a 245/45r20 up front and it rubs pretty bad. I'm minitubbed and all..still rubs. Looking for insight for a proportionate looking smaller tire. Considering going with a 275/35 up front..but I think that small of a sidewall will look stupid. Most research I've done came up with running a 275/40 on a minitub and I'll be fine but I've tried that too and it doesn't work lol. Any insight bros? :malik:
245/45 and 275/40 are the same height
I wouldnt go with 275s at all, the width isnt gonna help u any....245/40 would be 1" shorter than a 245/45 (28.7 vs 27.7") and shouldnt be that hard of a tire to find. Even if its a P rated tire, should be fine to run up front...ur not gonna be doing any heavy towing either. 245/40 will still have a 4" sidewall, btw...not bad at all, imo.
275/35 is 0.1" shorter than 245/40, btw....i just think that the extra width (1.2") might be part of the rubbing issue too. So my vote goes to 245s or 255s (I run 255/45 on 4" drop n no rubs 95% of the time)
