Anybody ever seen it done? Was looking at getting an OBS crew cab dually and putting the drivetrain and hopefully interior of a NBS in it for cruising. I've seen the seats done before but don't think I've ever seen the dash, door panels, or trim done

Am I just crazy for thinking I could make it work?

I've seen the dash and seats before, looked ok. Heard you have to hack the hell out of the dash and the door panels are a pain because you have to relocate everything on the doors.

Did you happen to hear what had to be hacked from the dash? Was it on the visible part or stuff on the inside? I love the OBS body style, but am not the biggest fan of the interiors. That's why I was hoping this would be possible.

I guess I'd just get a set of door panels to see if it was somewhat possible

No I didn't, it was on a blue obs I saw at scrapin the coast a few years ago. I would guess the rear sections that mount against the firewall and side but not sure.

You'd obviously be doing some modding to the dash for it to bolt up, fit contours, rake of the windshield, etc. Door shapes are also different. Electrical systems are different 03+, 99-02 are similar to OBS. Its been done, doing it, and doing it right are two totally different things honestly. It'd require a lot of time/finish work.

My plan was to find a salvage title 03+ donor truck and take everything I needed from that. I was hoping since I wanted to use the newer drivetrain too I could just pull the complete harness from the donor truck and move/lengthen things as needed for the OBS. I definitely know it would be a lot of time and work, but I think it would be really unique and probably look good if done right.

Yep. I have an 06 donor truck and considered doing that and LS swapping my brothers 92 roller. Decided I had best stick to my 96 lol

Yeah I figured they would need some major work, but I've seen some crazy shit done before so I figured maybe I could give it a shot. Who knows if or how it'll work out, and it wouldn't be done for a while anyway, I need to move out of my moms house first. Just seeing if I'm totally crazy for even thinking it lol
