Ok, so since both my cat's have finally blown out, I'm gonna tune out the rear o2s and put mufflers back on the truck. I still want it loud, just not stupid fucking redonkulous loud that it is now. Old set up was stock cats, stock y-pipe cut to run true 2.5" duals, X pipe right about where the muffler goes, out the back to 5" tips out the corners. Now it's that without cats so you can imagine how loud it is :nono:

My question is, what the hell is the difference in the Dynomax Bullet and the Summit "glasspacks"? I've found videos of trucks without cats and glasspacks and I don't like the sound. But I like the sound of bullets. Summit glasspacks are cheaper, that's why I ask....I'm also considering the Moroso Spun Bullets and CBE. I want aggressive, still somewhat raspy but definitely want to tone down the loud. Thanks fellas

There basically the same thing. A straight thru muffler with fiberglass or similar packing.

After changing mufflers to the AeroTurbine i highly recommend it! If you want loud you can the regular muffler or if you want it a bit quietier you can get the version with the built in resonator. What configuration are you going with?

well, to be honest.. I do know that the Dynomax Bullet is more of a resonator muffler, I know people, I being one... who have run them before another muffler to reduce raspiness. You tube would be your best bet as far as hearing differences. Fellow member DirtyBlackHoe has a Dynomax Bullet Muffler only on his truck with a 6" tip, and it sounds nice. This will go back to personal preference, and what you plan on doing ( if you decide to add long tubes or what not) as the tone changes dramatically. I have went through plenty of setups on my 02 ecsb and my 06 ccsb. The 02 when I got rid of it had 3" Pacesetter LTs/ORY into 3" Bullet into a TBSS muffler dumped truck was a 5.3 with tr224 cam as well.. so it was nasty. Now being 27, and more of a family man, I dont like all that noise. My 06 CCSB now has stock 4.8, tuned with 3" LPP LT's/ORY into a 22" magnaflow ran to stock 2500hd location. I love the sound. Its telling you at idle, im Not stock, but driving and crusising at certain rpms is quiet, and really mean when you lay into it. But I also have a cutout installed as well, just in case I ever want to be noisy. Sorry to ramble on, but this is me just touching the subjecy, as many will have a lot of opinions on what they like..

I thought they were the same too, but they sound pretty different. Configuration will not change, just splicing in mufflers for a temp fix till I can graduate and afford an all new setup.

Ok, I did not know the bullet was more of a resonator. I've been on youtube the past couple days and still haven't found one setup I love. I loved my truck with the stock cats and straights with an X. I could still be quiet if I needed to be but it would scream otherwise. Now there's no option to be quiet and it pops like no other and "farts" when it shifts :banghead: I do like Cknox121's truck with bullets tho....

I'm graduating in May, so this is just a temp fix till I can get a couple paychecks, then I'll be going LTs, true duals with some borla's probably as well as a built 6.0 swap in the fall. I was kind of like you, I loved all the noise to start with, but I'm tired of it now. It sounds like your current setup is similar to what I'm going for, but maybe just a tad quieter. I think a bullet on each pipe may do the trick since I've also got the Xpipe to kill some of the rasp. Thanks for the comparison of your trucks and the advise :shake:

I had a 3" dynomax bullet on my 350tpi formy. It was loud and raspy, but might have changed the design in the last 10yrs. Also different motor too.

What about those cherry bomb case mufflers at autozone for like $35. Throw a pair of those on. They sound good!

I'll pas on the cherry bomb glasspacks. Never have liked those, I'll prolly just go with bullets

Yeah, we'll see. I just don't know how much longer I can live with it, plus I'll be moving home for a while and I know my neighbors will really hate me when I leave for work in the mornings and it'll probably be August before I can re-do the whole setup. On a side note tho, I LOVE the way your old truck sounded. I didn't know those TBSS muffs were so mean sounding

Not the glasspacks! They sell chambered mufflers now. Have a neighbor with em on his 6.0 sounds good!

I gotcha. None of the parts stores around me carry the extremes, but I can swing by summit to get em. I don't think I've got room for em tho without welding em in sideways, but then they'll hang down. DNW to rip my mufflers off offroad

3 in/out bullet only

:whoa: That sounds awesome. Going with bullets fo sho :hump:

On my 04 Tahoe I had a Magnaflow, and it got way too raspy when I put the headers and the cam on. With the Radix installed, it was way too loud, so I went with a Corsa Touring.

I have hated the stock exhaust tip on my 2010 Denali since say one, it is an absolute eye sore! I love the sound of it, but the resonator and tips are just disgusting. I finally bit the bullet, and bought a Corsa Touring today...

They are really small, 4" thick x 6" long x 9"wide. If you stagger them, one in front one behind you would probably have room
