Corny hates me, so I'll ask you guys. :emo:

Whose right here?

Backstory:

I live in Canada. Get taxed when I ship stuff from America. I use a PO box in the States, bring stuff across myself. They charge me 13% HST on whatever the value of the item is (if its used/falls into some BS category its free). I show them a random Paypal reciept, pay and off I go.

Anyways.

I ordered a set of 20x12 962s from Mr.WheelDeal. Specified about 6000 times chrome/6x5.5/x12 etc. I dont know how many people work there, but every time I replied to an email, a new person would email me back (I think i've counted 9 names so far).

I place my order. Guy says theres a 2-3 week backorder on chromes and ill recieve a shipping number when they shipped out. No big deal. I wait a week and a bit, email back for a follow up to check if timelines are still in place. Another guy emails me said that they've shipped, arrived and are awaitng my pickup. Que? I never even got a shipping number, let alone was notified they shipped.

I go across. Pay $40 to release them from my PO Box...and lo and behold. THEY BLACK. Cool. Asked if I could leave them there, but since I already released, I'd either have to ship them instantly or take them. I brought them across, pay duty, (around 150 bucks), come home call leave a message/and email.

"Im sorry, we have chrome specified on the invoice, but in placing your order we specified black". No shit.

So now, they either want me to go across and get the proper set, and drop another $150 bucks on duty. Or an extra $80 to ship them to my house, which upon signing will get charged with "Duty and brokerage fees" for making UPS bring them across. They wont budge on prices, or refunds. Everytime I propose a new plan they have to ask their "super" and get back to me which takes a day or 2. Then some new guy calls/emails me, have to replay my story and he "has to get back to me". Still haven't agreed to pay for shipping back on the blacks, keep skirting the question....so we'll see where that goes.

I ideally want them shipped to my house at no cost to me. Or they refund me the $150 in HST for the improper set and I get them in the states....ill probably end up eating it though.

TL;DR: Could've bought Forces and a Happy Meal for the price these are going to cost me.

No experience with Mr Wheel Deal but you may even have to get a little ugly with them to get a straight answer. But, more than likely, you'll have to eat at least part of the cost.

My opinion, they should pay return and the extra fees to ship chome to your house so that no extra cost comes to you from their mistake which they clearly admitted to

wouldve shipped back on the spot...ur fault for taking them across the border

theyre responsible for shipping costs back to them and shipping u correct set to original addy....any modifications to delivery is on u.

Thats bare minimum they have to do imo...but since they fucked up....they should ship to ur door on their dime

Ask to speak directly to Steve. I've dealt with MWD many times. Any time I actually got back to Steve, problems were resolved promptly.

If you stop at the boarder and talk to them, they will put a note on your plate and which ever ID u use. That way you won't pay 2x. I have had to return stuff before. I am heading to Port Huron SUnday to pick up rims and head to Cabela's for the day.

I would've, but this is first time dealing with MWD. I didnt know what would happen/how things would be handled. I thought be better to have them, then be out wheels and money if something went wrong.

I completley agree. I'm not holding them responsible for the HST or for other money involved on my end. I had it factored in, just caught me off guard when they wanted more to ship to my house after screwing up/admitting it was their fault.

Thanks for the tip, ill see if it goes anywhere!

That sounds like it would work. Thanks for the heads up! Thats what I was actually worried about the most was "importing" them back to the states to ship them back. Wasnt sure how it was going to play out.

Blast them all over the internet, link them to all threads. Show them how much potential business they could lose if it's not handled correctly. File with BBB

I have dealt with Mr. Wheel deal three times. The first time they promised I would get the wheels before I went out of state for a couple weeks and of course they weren't there when I left. I created a thread blasting them on GMFS and within minutes I had a call from the supervisor and he straightened everything out. Not necessarily the right way to do it, but it worked.

I have had issues two out of the three times I have ordered from them but their prices are hard to beat. Like you I would email them and get different stories from 9 different guys who do not seem to have any clue. You will also notice that they NEVER answer the phone.

I kind of agree with Jared's idea, it worked lol.

I've done this on more than one occasion, when it works, it is great. When it doesn't, it serves as a warning to those who may deal with said company in the future. Either way you win in the end. Either get results, or take would be customers away from them.

I think Andrew is handling this properly. Yes MWD messed up, but it is also Andrew's fault for not dealing with it right away. I have been emailing them back and forth and explained about being :canuck: and shipping to US Shipping address. THey are actually thinking about changing policy to only ship to address of Credit Card. Many companies already do this to prevent this type of headache.

Myself, sunday is the only day I can go, so I am just gonna chance it.

:hahano: I dont really wanna go full on social media, not my thing. But if worse comes to worse..maybe. Im gonna try and talk to Steve directly and see if we can get something worked out.

The whole emailing/calling deal a different person was sketchy. Then being on backorder for 3 weeks and suddenly they are shipped really threw me off.

We'll see what happens. Ill keep it updated as things happen.

So,
when are you getting the AFs?
peace
