Anyone got a set of the plates they aren't using? I'm desperately trying to get a set of plates or at the least dimensions so I can try and get myself some plates. I'm tired of the scattered light and all the bragging about the morimotos. I'd stuff them into the stock housings on my 06 GMC but I don't wanna f them up. Can't buy them anymore, so I'm desperately turning to the forum community for some help.

Want good advice? Buy a set of Denali lights, run hids, then later on upgrade the projectors in them. That's what I am doing.

Or there are two guys that are selling the plates here. Ginger and Ri220

What he said ^^. Both Ginger and Ri220 sell the plates, personally I'd go with the ones Ginger is selling because his are stainless.

In that thread is the dimensions of the 6.0 projectors also. You can use the plates from the 4.0/5.0 but the hole for the projector bowl will need to be enlarged a bit.

You do realize these will do absolutly nothing for you in a stock GMC headlight right? These need to go into denali or denali reproductions.

Buy this: 1999 2006 GMC Yukon Denali RH Passenger Headlight 1 | eBay

Buy this: 1999 2006 GMC Yukon Denali LH Driver Headlight 94 | eBay

Buy plates from Ginger

Buy this: Bi-xenon Morimoto Mini Stage III Kit (H1) - Complete Retrofit Kits from The Retrofit Source Inc

Or if you already have HID ballasts buy this: Bi-xenon: Morimoto Mini H1 6.0 - HID Projectors from The Retrofit Source Inc

and this: Low Beam: 9006/HB4 - Relay Harnesses from The Retrofit Source Inc

And you WILL NEED THIS either way: High Beam Splitters - Accessories from The Retrofit Source Inc (I made my high beam correctional splitters).

Cut Ginger's plates to fit the 6.0's

Follow this how-to I made:

You'll need the hi-4 mod, or hi-6. Search the how-to section for the how-to on that.

If you buy the correctional spitters, you won't have to make any like I did in the video.

You'll have to cut Ginger's plates to fit the 6.0.

Let me explain myself, as your making me sound...dim lol. I currently have HIDs in my stock housings. I was having no luck finding plates to do the retrofit on the Denali headlights. The cramming I was referring to was stuffing the morimotos into my stock gmc housings, obviously without these plates. Plates are for denali housings only, I have understood this since day one lol. Im looking at the 6.0s, was waiting to source the plates before pulling the trigger on the retrofit kit and Denali housings, or else find someone who had gotten the morimoto into the stock gmc housing. Lastly, do you ship to Canada ginger? The last person I contacted had one set left and wouldn't sell them because I was in Canada or something. If so, pm me please, if not no reply is confirmation enough. I'll chech the adapter plate thread right now to in case I'm missing something. Thx for the list oktain. I was wondering if I could just piece it together since I have ballasts already. I'd just need to order a new bulb. That said I'm not all that pleased with my current kit so might just go the more expensive route.

Edit: I did the all on mod and disabled the auto lights when I bought the truck so I would have no issues with the HIDs. I'm running 5000k 35w lows, 6000k 55w highs, and 3000k 35w fogs. I'll be switching to a 4300k low, I'm removing the HIDs from highs in favor of a 9012 hir bulb. I deleted my drl, burnt pos, and modded in a second parking light. Old pic but you get an idea.

I am currently running HIR's in my high beams.

With the Mori bi-xenon and the HIR's plus the hi-4 you'll be super happy driving at night. Trust me lol.

If you do decide to go with the full retrofit kit, make sure you get the 9006 harness. Doesn't matter which shrouds you get since you won't be using them anyway.

I will warn you though, I did my video before I tore the lights apart again, and put washers in the bottom mounting points of the projector to angle them up just a tad... 2 washers IIRC.

You may not need ballasts though, as the TRS relay harness will really improve ballast performance and lifespan.

I can't see shit when my highs are on. Is this cause maybe the wrong bulbs? I mean it literally looks like I have two dollar store flash lights for highs. Lol

I do a lot of driving at night. I got frustrated with my highs being HIDs finally. Warm up time is brutal when going by rows of people. I really hope th hir's are as good as people claim. I really couldn't find a good video or pictures for a comparison. I ordered a pair a couple weeks ago so I guess I'll find out soon enough. I'm using a DDM kit without a relay, but I really think the relay would help.

I don't really understand where the washers go...but I have time to figure it out.

Here's the washout with my current setup :

One big ball of light, not very nice. This will look much better with a Denali morimoto retrofit :)

Washers... There's 4 bolt holes on the projectors to bolt them to the plates... the washers go on the bolt, between the projector and plate to "prop" the bottom up and away from the plate, angling the projector up a few degrees... Just reduces the amount of cranking you have to do on the headlight adjustment after the retro. My headlights were cranked high enough they were touching my hood... After using 2 washers to angle the projector up, my headlights are sitting roughly at a stock adjustment.

On the duramax forum we call it the all on mod. Lows, highs, and fogs, though in that picture I was still running the halogen fogs. DDM sent me a dead bulb and 5 pooched ballasts.

I'd like to do switchbacks but I can't find a nice set of parking lights to match my truck.

If only I could get rid of the amber Corners and get rid of the hazing :(

Ahh, ok, gotcha chief, I'll remember to do that :thumb
