This is true. A cop moved in the house about 1/8 mile down so in order to satiate my appetite for the smell of burning rubber Ive done a couple of burnouts in my own driveway. Fuck it. I have pics and all kinds of updates but like, no one seemed to care.

I read, just don’t always comment. For sure enjoy tucking away tidbits of knowledge/things to go back to and reference for when the time comes.

Well, since its winter and Im lazy about working one the car I'll update on the motor.

The valve covers didnt work out. They leaked no matter what the fuck I did. Even after surface grinding them perfectly flat. So I bought a set of black holley fab's covers. Those dont leak at all. and I have no idea because theyre identical to the shit ones from ebay. Only thing I can guess is that Holley has other form of QC that they can control in China.

I have another problem - I cant get the PS pump to stop whining. Ive tried 3 different pumps. Ive read a lot though that new pumps arent sold through dealerships or outlets so youre only ever buying remans. And the remans always suck unless you get lucky. This is for the canned ham style pump. So in order to fix this shit I ended up buying a couple hundred dollars worth of new brackets, a couple hundred dollar LS car style PS pump, and some more fittings. Fuck. Havent installed yet.

Finally I bought an intake. Which I hated. So I sold it on Ebay last night and subsequently purchased the black one. Pictured below. Prolly start installing all of that stuff this month. Plan is to dyno tune in the spring.

    Old heavy shitty intake -

New black satin intake I just ordered -

Im still contemplating building an all black motor.............that would mean a lot of disassembly and reassembly of the shiny bits.

Local guy with a tbss 440 LSX has that Holley mani and it pings like a mf. IDK if its just too thin but when you put your hand on it the pinging goes away.

Im sort of picky as noted by the fact I bought one heavy cast intake that was probably quiet by I hated the way it looked so I bought a different one.

I'll just drive around with the hood shut and the cut outs open..........no more intake noise.
