Lights quit working

Anybody know why my interior lights would all quit working? And the cargo lamp light is staying on, not the light itself, just saying it on the dash. Just did it all of a sudden, any ideas? Switch won't turn them, opening doors, even pushing the buttons on the ohc won't turn those on.

Iirc I had similar issue on my old 02. I changed out the headlight switch. Can't remember exactly what was my issue was. Hope it helps u get somewhere lol

Was not headlight switch, guess I'll try another cargo lamp switch since that's what light keeps displaying

Replaced cargo lamp switch, still nothing.

Did you do ANYTHING different before this happened? Seems.like it could be a short somewhere.

That's what I'm starting to think. Nothing in near past was done when this started. It started while at Shreveport meet. I noticed the 'cargo light on' in the display would come on when the door was open, then go off when shut, all interior lights were still working at this point. Then the next day, I get in my truck, and it comes on and never goes back off. Interior lights, (map lights and over head light) quit working.

The actual cargo light is not on, nor will come on, just the indicator light telling it's on is on.

I did inside cab, didn't know about the one under the hood. I Googled the problem when it first happened, but that thread never popped up. Ah well

Now I'm curious what made the fuse pop

My guess is a surge in voltage

my next guess was gonna be the BCM. they have shorts every once and a while, mine did it, and my high beams got stuck on unless i pulled the relay
