nice start a thread i'll well be sure to help. Postsome pics for eye candy!

trans behind 6.0 will be no different then behind a 5.3. where the 60e fall apart is WOT from overdrive, and wot through all the gears. The bands slip out and kaboom. If your gonna dick bag it drive it around in 3rd, rule of thumb is never go WOT from overdrive.

Personally if i was in ur situation, Id run some sonnax servos and a cooler. Wait for it to pop and buy an FLT or do a 80e swap.

Believe all TB are the same, however if the intake hook up, fuel system etc is different on the lq9, just use your 5.3 stuff. EVERYTHING is interchangeable, so dont be shy to use your 5.3 parts like intake, tb, fuel rails etc. Your inejctors will be fine, even with a small cam, beleive there 29 or 31#, but im not sure

Yeah I will dude and thank you for all the help! Already have the stock vmax tune loaded on HP tuners ready to go, as we'll use that and tweak it from there what's it fires up. Bgray, your "lq9" burnout vid is what really sold me on the lq9 swap hahahaha

Yah 80e's require some fab work, but nothing major. However, They are a heavy tranny, and do suck up some power. I have a Finish Line Trans Level 7 with billet input and output shafts.

Lq9s are nice, good power just in stock form. Probably 50+ more then ur 5.3

I have a CAI already and might just punch the cats for now. Long tubes are on the to do list but not right now as I just need to get it back to running normal. Would really like to do l92/ls3 heads with a cam and converter as well, but need trans work first

Is that engine currently in your truck? Sounds pretty similar to what I'd like to do in the long run. I also will have the 5.3 that's currently in my truck now... Hopefully sell some parts for a bare 6.0 block to make a 406/408 out of... Hopefully I land this new job lol

The whole ls3 setup will end up being a pretty penny, and over rated for a n/a 6.0 imo, thats why i didnt go that way,PRC makes great heads for good prices, and throw a ls2 intake on it.
Also take extreme measures for cam specs, fly cutting pistons possibly, lack of compression on l92s

I also didnt put a crank in mine for dependabilty as strokers dont do well in our blocks for long periods of time. If i had a gen4 i would have.
All my motor is missing is a crank it already has 2/3 of a full rotating assembly

I see. I want this one to be reliable as its my only vehicle/DD. the motor I'm picking up is out of an 06 Denali w/67,xxx miles. I have the option of an LS6 intake mani, but I think I'm gonna keep my stock truck intake for torque. The guy helping me has 1 LS6 head from his stock Z06, the other one was destroyed when it dropped a valve. How would these heads perform on a 6.0?

I have prc 243's which are those heads. They work awesome, flow great.

You keep saying its to get the truck running, I would run all truck stuff to get it up and running. If you wanna dick around after that with different intake setups then by all means, but get it working right before hand. Keep in mind different intakes will take different injectors, rails, front drive

Engine is actually an LQ4, has 317 heads and vin code U. Oh well, not too worried as it has 67,000 and literally looks brand new. A tuned 6.0 will still be wayyyy better than my L59 so whatever.

absoletely it will be. I would still suggest some long tubes while your there. Were talking like a 12-15 rwhp gain from them alone... LPP can be had for like 500 i think

Long tubes will be had ASAP. Info have the option of running LS6 manifolds as the guy helping with the install has the stock ones from the Z06. Might do that but def looking to get long tubes in the very near future, wish I could do em now lol
