Figured Most of everyone has probably seen pics posted in the As your vehicle sits now thread but why not make a build thread. This will be a very slow process for a while since there is a upcoming wedding, getting our own place to live in a few months maybe, and getting le fiance a new car so not much will be dumped into the truck for a while, just every now and then when money is available.

End of May I went to Discount to get the tires rotated and balanced on the Mazda3 before my 700mile round trip to see family in Monroe, LA. Buddy that works there brought me outside and showed me that the tires were starting to cord. So I though about it over night and figured that I didnt like it so much, didnt also feel like spending over $1k on new tires and brakes for the drive down there so why not go get a new truck lol. I had over $2k in wheels, camber arms, lugs, and coilovers waiting to go on the car, just needed the time and tires. So I returned the wheels and go my $750 back, sold the camber arms, and about to take a $300 loss on my brand new coilovers to get them gone.

I went to the dealer knowing what I was wanting cause what I could afford. I knew I was upside down on the Mazda from how much I have to drive to and from work everyday. Got the to the dealer and went and test drove a 2013 RCSB LS worktruck. Yes I said work truck, the v6 saves me money from dumping money into the motor and the only difference in it versus the normal ls model is rubber floors.

After I test drove we sat down and talked money. The sticker price on the truck was $28k, I owed $14k on the mazda and they wanted to give me $6,500 for my car. In the end I got them down to $21k for the truck and to give me almost $9k for my car but I had to leave my two sundown 10's and sundown amp with the car. Little dissapointed but then again I can always do another stereo down the road cause the extra $2,500 they went up on the car dropped my payment almost $50/month.

Here are they last pics of the mazda when I was test fitting the wheels. They were 18x9's with a +30 offset

Now onto the truck. The day I got it nothing was done since I got home that night. The night morning was my trip to see family and didnt get back til sunday night. Monday morning I debadged and removed the front license plate mount.

Next I picked up some shackles from Hunter and installed them and removed the factory block to level it.

Next I got my tint done by my buddy. He works at a tint shop and his boss lets him do side jobs so he set me up with 5% brow, stripped the rolldowns and put 5% on them, then the back glass he put 5% over the factory 20% to make it 2%

Plans are to colormatch the front end with a ltz grille, colormatch the handles and mirror caps as well as the tailgate handle and rear bumper. Im going to get upper and lower control arms and belltech drop strut with a mcg flipkit and avs underbed notch with helpers and onboard air and rear street performance shocks and set it at 5/9-6/10 and for now the wheels are undecided. Spray in bedliner and while im getting it I'll either get them to do my rear wheels wells or I'll get liners, all depends on which the cheaper is. Also will do small things like led's and hid's and cut the exhaust tip off, clear the headlights, swap the rubber floor out for carpet, and i'll find me a 3 cup holder jumpseat console instead of my 2.

Like I said this will be a real slow build but i'll update along the way but im very happy to be back in a truck.

Nice to see you getting some use out of those shackles! Good luck with the wedding and what not, this should be a great build!

Hell yeah buddy, good to see ya back in a mans vehicle. LOVE that sheer silver color on the new trucks, should be fun - but youll regret the V6, i had the same mindset as you when i bought mine 'ill buy a v6 to save gas and stay away from go-fast mods so i wont kill myself'. Nope, bad idea, still gets crap mileage unless i have stock wheels/tires on it, and it feels dangerously slow lol. Still better than that mazda though IMO, cant wait to see it get some low.

Thanks man, and honestly the work truck is all i could afford since i was upside down so much on the mazda and the work truck comes with the v6 so i had to deal with that. It just helps me not spend money and to save gas i cruise instead of my crazy driving i could get away with in the small ass mazda lol.

Looks like a good start, glad to see you back in a truck again. What speaker/amp setup did you have?

2 sa-10's and a saz-1500 with 1/0 wire kit in a custom ported box tuned to 32 hz i believe. Sounded amazing in the hatch. Not overly loud but really would rattle the car/roof if i cranked it up. Had around $1k +/- in it and they gave me around that to keep it in the car so in order to keep my payments as low as possible since i was already paying alot more than i wanted to for the truck i decided to let them keep the stereo. Sucks cause i really liked them and wanted them in the truck but oh well.

Glad to see you made it back to a truck.

For as upside down as you were on it, i would have looked at something used. but i know it just isnt in some peoples nature.

Asked about that, and wasnt possible. They were offering $4k rebates on new and they had more room to work as far as working with me on price. I got them down from $28k sticker to $21k. That cant happen on a used vehicle.

That silver looks nice. How you get away with 5%:security:

Gotta be slick homie. The 06 had 2% all the way around and was that way for almost 2 years. The 02 was legal, the mazda had 5% all the way around for almost 2 years as well. Only have gotten a warning once for tint. Most cops around me dont pay much attention but im usually cruising with the windows down anyways.

Thats a damn good deal. This truck after tt&l and gap insurance which i get on every vehicle was $29k but was expected cause the mazda. Not worried though, just happy to have a truck again and im not paying so much that will make me low on cash for paying it.
