surprised you didn't go with racing manifolds and up-pipes right away instead of taping holes in the stock manifold.

gauges look good but i do really hate pillar pods... but i really like the dsp5 switch. is it able to be a little more dim and white LED instead of blue ?

Engine stuff will come, just getting the cab squared away. All the gauges have manual dimmers, and auto-dimming for when the headlights come on. I can tweak all of it later.

I don't mind the pods so much, but I'll keep my eye out for something a little more stealthy. Keep in mind I don't want to take my eyes off the road / turning my head to keep looking at them

Pods look fine to me  Sure they're not the cleanest or most OEM-looking option, but for easy of visibility and install, can't really beat it :imo:

yea around here is you have pods your truck will most likely get stolen within 2 years.

i see at least 5 diesel trucks get stolen every week in BC, all of them with quite a bit of aftermarket engine work done.

most of them get found at the river swamped with a bunch of stuff pulled out of it.

and some of them are just gone.

even my CTS2 will be hidden nicely once i am done with it.

Where are you going to stick it? (the CTS2)

Going to attempt a nice custom cubicle were the 2 slots are int the centre console.

Also IMO for egt's most guys won't ever look at them at the track since it won't get too hot for continues time periods. If egt's get over 2000 for like 5 seconds on the 1/4 mile it's no big deal. The only time I would worry about egt's is when towing or driving up steep grades for extended periods of time.

Other then that it's nice to log some info like let's say you run out of fuel at the end if the 1/4 the cts can record your rail pressure for the 1/4 mile and if it drops below like 20,000 you know you need either a new cp3 or you need to upgrade.

I know dodge guys and some duramax guys that have seen over 2600 egt while doing truck pulls and they haven't blown up.

That is basically the reason why my cts won't be in my direct line of vision.

Oh, you mean non-switched and have them turn on with accy? I have a few different colors for loom, just picked red. I will probably switch to black when I do the engine upgrades, as the components will be painted or powder coated.

yea like switched with the key. not that what you did looks bad there, its just one more thing to remember to turn on every time.

and i like black loom because wiring is one of the things that no body likes seeing, and black just blends in and disappears thats all.

Well I did set up the switches on independent add-a-circuits for power, and they get juice when the key is turned.
I can just leave the one near my dimmer on all the time.. but I do like the ability to kill all the aftermarket stuff with a switch.

I am getting closer to executing the rest of my plans for the truck; I'm just wrapped up in a business deal I need to get through.
Either it will be smooth sailing afterwards or I'll be brokesauce for all eternity. Hopefully I have some cool (truck related) news to share soon.

I hear you on the black loom though.. good call.

ok, i figured they were like the Stock fog switch, where everything time you start the truck you have to turn them on.

not bad then.

Yes!

I'm in the process of moving right now (either renting or selling my old space)

I've got all the gauge work done and the pillar, although it's not a perfect fit. I've got some finishing to do to it. I've driven the truck less than 15 miles in 2015? I'd have to doublecheck that number but it's been basically sitting quietly, locked away in the garage. I was toying around with a lot of different mods for the truck but realized much beyond a few mods, smog removal etc that I would need a built tranny to take any increase in output from the engine.

So instead of doing many mods to the engine, I've been researching the drivetrain as a winter project. I suspect I'll be able to get to it after the holidays - I just need a boost in my cashflow!
