So as a few of you know, i have been looking for something to tow my enclosed trailer, because my 1500 NBS sucks dick at it, and i didnt want to blow the trans.

My budget was 5K but i really wanted to be below 4k. Was looking for a power stroke or a cummins, but everything under 5k was rotted out, beat to fuck, or had 600k miles.

I stumbled upon a 1995 Chevy c3500 dually with the 6.5l Turbo diesel. As much as it isnt a power house like the powerstrokes or cummins, i heard they were on par with towing with a big block, but with better mpg then the big block,

So i went and took a look at it. Truck fired up easily, had the heads replaced a year ago, due to the fact that they were known for cracking, as well as the PMD relocated to the fuse box area.

I decided that it was worth the money and ended up getting it for 3800 bucks. only thing that was wrong with the truck was a small spot of rust on the passenger fender, and major grandpa package.

The day i picked it up

it had a chrome bambi basher, diamond plate running board, with 1500000 lights on them, as well as chrome fender trim.

When i got home that day, i pulled the running boards and the bambi basher off. so it looked better.

Then i pulled the trim off, and added a 3in down pipe and 4 inch exhuast, no cat, no muffler,
Only issue i have had with the truck is the PMD started to go, i bought another one, and relocated it info the bumper ducting, with a big ass aluminum heat sink.

So now you gonna hang out in front of Wawa with the other diesel kids and blow black smoke at hybrids?

:cheeky:

to tell you the truth, its not bad, definatly doesnt wind up or push as much boost as its counter parts, but so far its not bad,

to tell you the truth, the thing that sucks the most is that their arent to many mods you can do that are simple without comprimising the reliability.

Definitely nice truck for 3800!!! If you really want a cummins I vote swap a cummins into this! Looks MUCH better than any dodge and would give you the cummins power :)

rofl,

i dont plan on swaping anything into it, i have been driving it lately, but thats because im trying to save what little life i have on the NBS winter tires, for the snow.

But with how bad the frost was this morning, today is its last day for a while.

only plans as of right now is an pyro and boost guage.
