Everyone else seems to have a build thread, so I figured why the fuck not.

Bought it like this:

Then, I put on the ghey bar.

Then the infamous Linexed rocker panels (I got a rocker panel/cab corner replaced, and this was cheaper than paint).

Finally, going in the right direction.

Then the 6.0 happened.

Then I wanted to go around corners.

Finally got some real wheels and tires.

And last night I finally colormatched the grille properly.

Hopefully when it cools down, I can get that 12.9 pass.

The end for now, fuck all of you. :lemon:

Been running around 13.4 in the heat this summer with the new wheels and tires, and last year in similar weather I was around 13.8. I think a 12.9 is within reach once the good air comes around.

The truck is running quicker than I, or anyone expected it to, so I'm not going to put any blame on the tune. I'm sure it's not perfect, but it's been working well for two years, I'm not going to go messing with it just yet.

Oh, and I am still only tuned for 87 octane, so there is more left on the table, I'm just trying to get that 12.9 on regular fuel.

Hah, thanks man. Your comment made me go watch that video a few more times, god DAMN that was a good feeling. I still can't believe it fired right up like that on the first try. Not sure if I'm lucky or good.
Not bad! I kinda like the linex with the green. But Get a black z71 valance for sure though

sent from my HTC Rezound

Yeah I think the black and green work well together, it's just the flares and bedliner on an lowered truck are a bit odd.

And the valance is getting sprayed black tomorrow after I get back from work, hopefully ordering a Tahoe front lip from the dealer too. It's cheap and should look pretty good, and it might help out with aerodynamics. Who knows.

Nah it think it looks fine. What's the difference in a Tahoe lip?

sent from my HTC Rezound
It's just that ~4" extension that goes on the lower valance.
Bossy Dan. Ever plan to go lower?
Eh, probably not. My angles up front are pretty good now, and I don't feel like breaking parts during 4wd launches. :D
no credit for making the custom y pipe?

Haha forgot to mention that. I'm probably going to be building a 3" Y and finally getting everything together properly and leak free over the next couple of months.

kinda ugly? dude i think its pretty gnarly lookin and original

Thanks dude. Yeah I'm pretty happy with it, it's just a bit less clean in person than it looks in pictures (swirls for days, front of the hood is rusting and chipped to hell, the drivers side rocker panel is completely rotted out and held together by linex, my fucking filler door is rotted through in one spot, the list goes on... But it's had 210,000+ miles put on it in the northeast, so I can't really complain). I also kinda like that it's a bit haggard, I can drive the fuck out of it and not care. Dirt roads are a shit ton of fun.

Looks good imo. Black valence would make a huge difference though.

The black paint on the valance is drying as we speak.
