Honestly, of all the things I've done on these trucks, this was by far the most tedious. The clips that hold these caps on to the mirrors are weak, and there's no good way to go about getting 'em off, but this was the best I could do.

I've taken a picture of what you're doing from the outside, and also shown what you're dealing with on the inside of the mirror.

Things needed:
Screw Drivers: a minimum of two, I'd recommend four.
Patience

Here we go:

Step 1:
Start from the bottom side of the mirror. I went from the outside in towards the mount. Stick a screw driver in and pry upwards to get a bite on it, use another screw driver to finish prying. It takes some finagling, but the clip will come loose.

Step 2:
Here you can see the 1/4 inch gap, this is what it'll look like when you've release a clip. Use the screw drivers to "walk" your way along to the next clip

Step 3:
Work your way along until you get the the middle clip (the second of the three). Repeat the same process you did for the first one

Step 4:
Once you release the middle clip, wedge some screw drivers in to keep the previous clips from snapping back in. Its frustrating as hell to re-do 'em, ask me how I know

Step 5:
This is the toughest of the clips. I broke this one. If you do, dont worry. The mirror cap will still lock in just fine.

Step 6:
Once you have released the three clips along the bottom, make sure you have screw drivers or something to prevent them from re-clipping. Now we move onto the top.

Step 7:
These are much easier then the bottom clips. You'll want to start from the mount side and work out, walking the screwdrivers along until you have a gap

Step 8:

Step 9:
Once you have "walked" all the way across, you should have a gap about like this
step9.jpg

Step 10:
There is a little hole, you'll want to stick your screwdriver in this to pry. If you dont see it, work the mirror cap out a little more.
step11.jpg

Step 11:
After prying the first hole, a second one (the second of four) will begin to show. Stick your screw driver in this one and repeat the process

Step 12:
Continue on to the third and fourth holes.

Step 13:
Now just give it a little tug and it'll fall right out

He's not active on this site anymore, so the chances of that happening are slim, maybe we can get someone with a NNBS to redo this?
