My grandpa was original owner and he barley even washed it let alone detailed it. But that scares me I don't wanna leave it worse then when I started

that was an extreme example haha. dont worry too much, i highly doubt the clear is that thin, just keep your pad moving and u'll be fine

I use a dewalt with 8" pads and 3M 3 step compounds. Then give it a hand glaze, call it dunz. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1336204422.885279.jpg

That depends if you want to embed the paint contaminants into your paint or not..if you do then dont clay...

I didn't :/ I was short on time and got impatient. Hopefully it didn't cause any harm. I'll prolly re-detail mine mid summer.

just wish I had more time to do any of our vehicles, it takes me like 3 hours from dragging everything out of the garage to finish drying, i've got a pile of adam's stuff and a pc that hasn't even been out of the box yet

how do I clean the pads when I'm done polishing, by hand? throw them in the dishwasher with my plates? let the dog lick them clean?

i use simple green to soak them and then rinse them out.
