I should have said, if the combo runs out of hp before 6100rpm....then theres no big need for a 6600rpm stable valvetrain. Springs ive said like 8 times with an article link. Psi1511ml

Worth a read if you increase valvetrain weight and want to turn rpm How to Maintain Valvetrain Stability - LS7 Exhaust Valves - VETTE

....

Excellent article. I was always under the assumption also that dual springs were better, but I can see why they aren't always the right answer.

I've read guys running 7k and no trunion, and some who swear by them. I may do it later. I'll get an intake ported, heads and stall eventually.

Pat g has been working with me. 222/226 eps cam

Rest will come after I send the sheet off.
Nothing right now.
He said a few days.
Not but I will if the guy helping me doesn't have it already. But I swore it was 7.4

you should really consider milling the heads since you are removing them anyway. bigger cams decrease your DCR, which is partly to blame for the loss in low rpm torque that big cams have a reputation for. If you bring it back at least to original DCR, you should not notice a decrease in low rpm power... possibly even a good increase.

the power gains from recovering your DCR is about the best for the dollar you can get($60). Plus you will have a virgin head surface.

that's a pretty sweet cam imo, esp with 629 lift. should run like a sumbich with milled heads. You still need to check PR length regardless.

on mine, stock SCR is 11:1, dcr was about 8.6. I milled .030 to go to 11.7:1. With my cam it netted ~8.7:1 DCR.

thanks dude, well, I will reconsider milling, I talked to a shop that is doing all my dad's racecar build, and his driver's build (driver works at said shop). Owner said he would do it for me cheap, but said he didn't think it was really worth it.

I've read both online everywhere, some say do it, some say it isn't worth it. I hate the inconsistencies. I've also read a few different measurments. .025, .030, and .035

Avg cost is $30 per head. It is absolutely worth it. Ask pat g or btr how mich you need to get the most out of 93oct. Should lead you to around 8.7 dcr. You could just do a thinner gasket instead.

I will say though, being you will be ordering this cam from EPS and all those cams are ground here at cam motion in baton rouge per order itll be as said about 4 weeks.
Unless something has changed lately that im unaware of. Hes told me that right after tax season of course is normally when he really gets backed up.

Geoff is a one man show at EPS, and his cams are ground per order weather shelf or custom spec. Even if you pick up from his store it takes 2 or so weeks. However, they are well worth the wait i love mine and so does everyone else locally who run his cams.
