Ok so I plan to start my cam/stall on the 5.3 in the next few weeks.

I planned on going with a relatively larger cam after some research I decided on the tsp 224r
First question what diameter pushrods to get and brand
They offer a few different ones and I'm not sure what brand/diameter to get or what's best.
Second lsa I want it to cut up pretty hard idling but nothing to crazy so I'm not sure what lsa I want yet.
Third my stall I'm looking at something decent to dd on but I still want something that's gonna flash and pull hard.
I understand the gas mileage ill be loosing but I currently get 23 cruising so I'm not worried about it. Headers will be ordered too

Fist things first, IMO that cam is to big for the 5.3, unless your going with a really high stall. In that case unless you go with yank, which is fairly expensive, will not classify as a good daily driver, IMO. Circle d makes good converters, but from what I hear, is really loose, I believe is them term. Which means it will have to stall up to whatever before every take off. What ever you do make sure your converter compliments the cam or it will be a waste. Lsa, if you want choppy go with a 110, but I heard they are difficult to tune, so whoever does it make sure they know what there doing.

What I would do in your truck
Tsp or tr 220 w/ 112 Lsa
7.4 pushrods
PAC 1218 springs
Yank 3200

I also been considering the tsp 220
The yank I'm not sure about
My buddy had one in his camaro and I didn't care for it much.
It was the yank ss series.
It's just everyone running circle D and I don't want nothing too loose like you said. I want to be able to back to a trailer with having to completely stall up to 3200

I bought the yank tt 3000, drives damn near like stock, but no quite enough to do the job with the 220. A 3200 would be just right I think. To bad your not closer, I would let you drive mine to see if you liked or not.

SloStepside is kinda right....for a heavy crew cab that cam is a little big for Daily status...and by the sounds of it you dont really want it super aggresive. On stock heads your gonna be limited with that cam, but will still work okay. Your a fairly stock seteup, that 220/220 would be nice

Circle d triple disc billet at 3200 should slip probably to 3700-3800

Pushrod length is correct at 7.4
Also the valve springs and retainers of your choice. Id jsut buy a Texas Speed package, comes with all the goodies!

My buddy has a hughs 3400 he says flashes to 3600-3700
He bought this one because he thought a tighter converter than his yank would help him in the quarter but it did just the opposite.
He paid 750 and wants to sell it to me for 500 installed with warranty
It only has 7 passes down the strip 3 months old still under warranty.

Call Beau at Scoggin Dickey. He will hook you up on all the parts you need except the converter.
They have awesome prices. I ordered my lifters and all from him and he took care of me. Also tell him you want the performancetrucks.net discount

Also more things factor into how the cam sounds than just the LSA. Mine is on a 111 and it doesn't chop hard at all.

low_life96's truck runs good I can vouch for that. The cam doesn't seem too big at all really. I had basically the same set up in a 05 rcsb silvy but mine was 5.3. My cam specs were 224/226 .581/.585 112+3 and it was a freak I loved it with and without the 3200 circle d.

Yea the 220 and the trucker are both proven cams, but with supporting mods you can squeeze a little more out of them lol I'm not knocking either one because I'm sure you did your research and know what's up. My good buddy ran the tsp220 and it was awesome, but a custom grind is the way to go in my eyes. I ran a circle d 3200 and so does low_life and so does my buddy who had the tsp220 cam. He ended up with a 224/230 custom grind cam it needed more stall, but it was still a freak. It ended up runnin a 12.24 at 111 on a 150 shot of laughing gas.

Hell yea man those cams sound great! With a good tune and that converter it should dang sure wake it up lol it'll sound like a beast none the less. Be sure and post up video if you get a chance! Those cam swaps are a walk in the park compared to the old sbc stuff lol Who is your tuner?

Dont worry ill put some vids up,have a bunch of other goodies to do too
Doing this first, trucks on airride, have to see how suspension handles this first
Mainly wanted some lope riding low and slow and going to shows, have to order my lts,but i do have dual 3in ecutouts, the 4.8 outta sound like it has some balls
My first idea with comp tumper, but are pretty worthless in 4.8/5.3 but sound titties

I've seen pictures of your truck it's for sure already badass and gettin better lol I like like the air ride scene as well, but I'm more into performance. Yea man I'd say you made a good call on the cam choice. The thumper sounds great, but I've never heard of any1 bein satisfied with the performance side of it.
