Thanks, I need to go pick it up this weekend. That looks factory on the underside. What did you bend over the lip with? Just slowly with pliers? And did you put any panel adhesive on the bend?

EDIT: Or was it a body dolly with hammers to get the edge? That's probably the better route.

I can't even tell you how big of a difference that grille made to me! Front end looks perfect with those clear lights and black grille insert (aside from the alignment). Looks great!

Yeah I love the lights, mainly because they actually have a reflector in them that's white/clear. Not just the chunk of chrome in there. But the bulbs fit like hell, and the brackets suck.

i actually liked the other grille

Same grill just plasti dipped it. Up close you can still see the blue in a few areas. Its hard to paint all the edges of that damn grill. I'll probably peal it off soon since I didn't do the greatest job. If I want a black grill I'll just get a new one.

We had some really warm weather for jan/feb so I drove it to work for a few days. Only real update is I went a bought a yellow top for it since the other battery died from sitting so long.

I finally got the headlights adjusted a little better so I'll probably retrofit them soon once the weather goes to crap again.

I also took apart the HVAC controls to replace the burnt out bulbs with some LEDs.

I got it all back together last night but didn't get any pics. I'll snap a few of the output tonight. I just replaced the factory bulbs at their locations. I didn't add any extra, I'm using flat top 5mm leds with 330 ohm resistors and the light output it pretty good.

It actually looks really really good with an 1500 hood. I think the truck is looking awesome.

It might stay that way, he sold the HD hood before I could get back down there. He's about a hour away from me so I had to wait til this weekend.

I haven't got the night time shots of the LED's yet, forgot all about it. I've been busy in the garage so I have been neglecting the truck.

Finally got a heater so I can work out in the garage.

And have been insulating the garage. When I bought it there was drywall with a 1/4" thick coating on it that was flaking and falling everywhere. In December I rented a dumpster and gutting it all. Just not got the heater where I can stand to be out there and start working on it again. Got 1 wall done and ready to cover.

I did manage to get to the body shop though and pull my dash pad to start sanding.

That's another guy that works in the body shop. He was painting a cowl hood, that's why he's rocking the white one for awhile.

I got about 1/2 the dash done with 80 grit to get the texture off. Need to finish that this weekend. I work in the office so I can't sit over there and work on it.

I'm going to paint the gauge bezel, dash pad and both end covers all body color.

Also got the paint taken off the av vents, they were not painted the best. They left the fins in place and taped around it.

Got a little more done on the garage.

Also got to use a lift at work this past weekend to change my fuel filter and rear diff fluid. Didn't feel like having those smells in my garage forever.

So I explored around under the vehicle for awhile.

This drag block appears to be bent a little but its been this way since I've had the truck.

Here are the 2-link mounts, looks like there is fluid leaking around both of them unfortuantly.

And the watts link

The gas tank cross member has been chopped up, I'm guessing that's why it doesn't drag.

Heres the trans crossmember, not sure if its been changed or not. I've seen some thread where people have to section it to where it will not hang below the crossmember. Mine doesn't look like its been cut up but the mounts on the side of the frame are getting a bit thin.

Moving up to the front heres what left of the front skid plate

And the bags/spindles

I've got all the stuff for my tune up sitting in the garage, I was hoping to pick up some headers to do at the same time but some septic tank issues stopped that. So now I'll wait.

Trans crossmember looks stock, but now kinda dicked. Looks like that thing spent alot of time beeing dragged. That wiring job is what nightmares are made off i think lol

Glad to see your doing it justice and fixing it all up

Trans crossmember is stock, 99-02 trucks were like that. 03-07 had the ones that hangs down below the frame.

There is no 100% for sure answer on which setup it will have. Ive seen them both way from 99-02. 99 a 5 speed corssmember will never fit in too, which is weird

Yeah I've only tackled some of the interior wiring. I'm waiting until I can take the bed off and fix the 2 link before I dig into the nightmare that's waiting under the bed. The radio wiring looked even worse than the valve wiring...
