Yeah I tore apart way to many things at once. Garage included haha. Worst part is now with no lights I can't drive when it's nice. So I got to get the headlights situated.

Looks good man. Good to know the aftermarket lights are a bitch to retro, guess I'll keep looking for used oem's

I had aftermarket Denali's that I did the retro on. Took maybe 2.5 hours start to finish taking my time

I just destroyed the mounting flange for the projector. I'm going to try and clean it up with a dremel and some jb weld.

Should have just cleared the OEM headlights. I think the Projectors look tacky.

I will say I prefer oem non projectors cleared. I wouldnt say tacky but I don't really like the look.

Sorry, Poor choice of words as I was mostly referring to aftermarket stuff offered on EBay.

These were on the truck when I got it. It's all I got to work with. I cleared a set a few trucks back, but can't remember. Are the lenses set up with a diffuser on the nbs sierras? I'm putting the morimoto projectors in something and they need a clear lens.

The oems have ribbed lenses, you can find clear lenses but they're hard to come by I think.

Got a little done this weekend. It was to cold to stay out all weekend, really need to get a heater of some sort in the garage. Picked up some parts from a local guy parting out some trucks.

Peeled the speakers off of the brackets, now I just need to buy some decent speakers.

Got some new HVAC controls since mine had all the mounting pegs trimmed off from the old double din conversion.

Also starting on my version of mounting a double din in the 1.5 opening. I took apart a old 1.5 din radio to get the base plate off of it. I folded down the back edge that was at a 90 degree.

Here you can see where I'm heading with this. Just bolt my radio to this plate and make the bezel fit. With the double din bezel my HVAC controls fit poor, and I lose my ash tray, and AUX charging ports. I don't use the ash tray, but still its there. So I figure just make the radio fit the 1.5 opening and everything else will fall into place.

Made some brackets from some I had laying around.

Now the radio clips in just like the factory 1.

I trimmed the bezel to around the size I needed. I also scooted the radio forward a tad to where it meets up to the bezel now. Also forgot about the radio being angled toward the driver a tad, so I made those adjustments.

Cut out the edges of my double din bezel to attach to the 1.5. The corners are a little tighter on the double so I tried to keep those.

And this is where I stand with the new HVAC controls and the blue pieces hot glued in

I brought the bezel to work with me today to used some 2 part glue the body shop has to fix plastic.

Also stated it up and let it sit outside and run awhile to charge up the battery, I'm trying the black grill thing. I'm not sure I'm hooked on it.

What sucks is who ever painted it let blue get onto the chrome a little. So up close you can see a line of blue around the whole edge. If I end up leaving it I may buy a new grill and black it out. This is just plastidip anyways.

A new grille is very inexpensive. I wopuld jsut get a new one!

looks great black tho

Probably will eventually. Got my eyes on a HD hood right now, its got a few hail dings but its going to have to be painted anyways. How did you go about trimming your corners?

Mocked them up, measured, then cut, and rolled the edge over for oem look

Do you have any pics of the under edge of the hood? I've been reading several threads. Apparently some guys have used filler for the edge. Now I know that's a bad idea, but I do have access to panel bond that should work fine.

Got my headlights in, and just as I imagined they fit like crap. Which sucks because I like the look of them. I did get them to align a little better than these pics afterward.

I guess I'm going to try and switch some adjusters from some old light onto these and see if I can get them to line up. If not I'm not going to waste my time to retrofit them.

Also got some wurth fixall on the front of the bezel last night. Letting it sit today while I'm at work and I'll sand it down tonight.

Heres the back before I started, this was 3M panel bond. It took forever to cure so that's why I switch to this wurth fixall.
