in the market for a bed cover. buying used because they're too damn expensive new. as i got looking, I'm torn between wanting a folding cover or roll up cover. roll ups are cleaner looking laid out, but folding seems much easier. I'm wondering..

- with all the different brands, models, features, looks ect.. what are the things i should look for/not look for in the cover?
- some ads are saying their cover fits 6.5' beds in nbs and nnbs's, which i don't think is possible...is it? different dimensions i would assume?
- going on the ss, so wanting something that looks nice. flush & sleek if possible
- do you have a roll up or fold? had both? whats your preference or what would you suggest

roll & lock styles aren't available and neither is the bakflip, so they are out of the question
pics too are welcomed

I got a roll up with a tilt faeature that is great! I forget the brand right now its a popular one though, so to open it you can either snap it off and roll up or just tilt it up and take it off. Never have snapped and rolled it lol

I think that's now most roll ups are, no? It's how several of friends/families are. My cousin showed me how his worked a while back with the latch then roll. Do you or Jenn have any issue with the cover in winter?

Word, roll n lock.. About my favorite thing on the truck

To you and Jared.. Do yours lay flush against the tailgate when open? My friend has one that came with his truck and it's slightly angled. Not sure if it's a age/ware issue, or that's how they are? The one from ad is like that also

no issues on either, i just take a broom and sweep all the snow off before i go down the highway.

hers says water tight, mine i have a few very small holes, but mines also like 8 years old.

It's illegal not to do that lol but cool, some people say the vinyl shrinks in the winter and makes it a pain in the ass to roll up right or even get it to latch

Wish that roll and lock was here! I got this fiberglass one I'm trying to sell, would be nice to snag a roll n lock cheap. People want premium prices here. Grandpa has a roll n lock on his dually and it work great and keep water out/feed dry for his cows when it's raining.

Lol, the end that slides from tailgate to front of the bed.. Is your perfectly level across? Like if you have your cover closed, does it evenly lay against the tailgate, or is it slightly cocked? Look at those pictures, how the one side is pinched in more than the other

Edit. And Smith, I can buy nbs one for me, and the nnbs one for you and bring it down next Shreveport meet :cheeky:

Double edit. Ya jared, i think this one is roughly 2 hours, if not 2.5

Mine sits flush pretty much, but they are not perfectly perpendicular with the bedsides. They are designed to have a slight angle on them. My only issue is I didn't have the patience to drill the tailgate piece correctly, mine is slightly off, it sits higher on one side. I don't care anymore, I bent a rail when my compressor fell over. Eventually I will order a new piece, a new lock tumbler, and have it powdercoated when I do my bed rails.

Nopee on mine there are two different snap settings winter and summer have always had mine on summer and has not been unsnapped in almost a year. It's just easier to tilt it up and take it off
