I'm wanting to get another backup cam. The camera the shop installed is garbage at night. During the day it's pretty bad as well, the colors aren't vivid and it looks like my double din is 1980s Nintendo LOL

This is how it's mounted currently. I have also thought about starting over and trying to flush one into the tailgate cap, but I'm not sure how I would run the cables through the gate. Suggestions would be great, if possible I would like to use the wiring that is already ran for the camera as well.

You might be able to fab it into the spare tire crank cover thing on the bumper if you want to do a spare tire delete

I'm thinking I should just try my luck with the shop again. They butchered my mount when they installed this second camera. I had bought a Cubby Cam mount and took it to them since they installed my double din originally, the camera they installed was a pos and had a very narrow viewing angle. I took it back and they butchered a square camera in a round hole and threw some moulded ABS on top to make it look nice.

I need a camera for mine. Too low to back into spots with a curb or parking block without hitting the bumper lol

Good god. Fuck them, just buy a cheap ebay camera. Most guys here have had great luck with them. I remember someone did a comparison too of a an expensive unit and a cheap ebay unit on one of the forums.

I'm thinking that's what I will do. But in the mean time I'll stop by and see what they have to say. They ruined my $70 mount so I will at least want compensation for that since this is the second camera that they installed that was a pos!

I would really like to just exchange the pos they put together with my hacked up mount for my money back, we'll see how that goes.

God damn, thats terrible.

Mine is also a cheap ebay camera with the guidelines. Looks WAY better then that. I have it mounted in the same location as well, right above the hitch. It even looks better then the OEM camera on my wifes car.

That's clean Sam! I might do that if they fgt shop won't give me and money back. Is that just a rubber receiver plug?

It's not as bad during the day.
