this is pretty simple but i wrote it up with lots of pictures just so everyone realizes how easy it is

1: unscrew the antenna

which will leave u with this

2: remove this piece

to leave u with this

3: undo the three screws to unmount the base using a 7mm socket

Optional: for "improved radio reception"

create a wire a couple inches long with #10 ring terminals on either end like this one
DSCN0673.jpg

attach one end to the base of the antenna (i used 10-32 bolt and nut, with washers)
DSCN0674.jpg

sneak the base so it sideways down the fender
DSCN0675.jpg

attach the other end of the cable to original mounts
DSCN0676.jpg

end optional--------------

sneak the base so it sideways down the fender
DSCN0675.jpg

i put a dab of locktite on the threads
DSCN0677.jpg

screw the antenna back on
DSCN0678.jpg

lay the antenna down the fender and attach with zip ties
DSCN0679.jpg

reinstall plastic piece
DSCN0680.jpg

as you can see you still have a hole there if you want you can replace that piece with one off an esky which doesnt have that hole

Yeah I had tighten it real good and added a little of jb weld, and they tried and. Broke it it was a billet antenna and I don't have the original one, they also tried to steal my tails, and corners, and denali's the same night. All they got was my third brake light. It was at my girlfriends old apartments

Also dont forget everyone - the trim piece that surrounds the antenna can be swapped with the escalade piece that has no hole for the antenna, looks a bit cleaner.

Nice write up.

For those that don't want to buy the escalade piece with no hole you can get a rubber plug to fill the hole.
