I'd go jakes performance also. Coming from somebody that has an 80e, don't do it. You'll hate it unless you have a blower or 600+ rwhp. I'm gonna have to do a gear swap now just to make mine kinda of quick off the line again.

^^^^ This is why I'm holding my 60E as long as i can. 80E just isnt responsive like the 60E.

I think your problem lies less with the 80e and more with your gearing.
I have 4.88's. I Had 3.73, and it sucked.

I just worry about being in this position again down the road with a 60e.
It's going to be time for tires here probably end of summer. Will be going 37, and everytime I tow my boat, it is a constant steady up hill grade back from the river.
I'm worried less about racetruck performance, and more about reliability and longevity.

If I can't get another 100k out of this truck from either swap, I'm not doing it and I'll be down at the dealership signing on a new truck. I'm done dumping money in this thing.

Honestly you are pushing the limits of that truck imo. You dont hear of many people raving and loving the tow performance of there half ton trucks. Now throw heavy ass 37's on there and you are pushing it.

If you don't care about performance then go 80e. Yes my problem is with my gearing but with the 60e my 3.73s were sufficient lol. The 80e is built To tow. If you're worried more about longevity than performance then 80e all the way!

Your running a 60e now. If you put an 80e in it itll act like you have 4:10s with the 60e. 60vs80 have a huge difference in gearing ratios. 37s are already to much, towing anything these 99-07c trucks hate it they tow nothing like the newer truck.
You still dont know whats wrong with the truck and already jump to conclusions about this 60e being toast.

On your setup, and 80e swap would be more of a headache then anything. Yes its a tough tranny, but you arent even pushing any power out of the truck...seems pointless to me.

Id get a built 60e and swpa it in and be done with it. Take advice from guys that have actually experienced trans issues and swaps
