If you want loud look into a muffler called "Black Widow"

They are getting more and more popular and will give you a real aggressive sound. I almost got one for my truck, but my pile is stupid loud with a 22" offset case magnaflow. I am actually thinking of adding a HF cat and a Pypes M80 in front of the muffler to tame it down.

IMO stay away from SI/DO mufflers, and stay away from dual tips coming out of the back... it looks :marchmellow:

Thanks for the advice! I ran across people on YouTube running the carven R type and they sound sick so I might do some homework on those too.

I was going to throw that out there as an option as well! They do sound pretty good

you could also look at the following:

-- Corsa Exhaust. Sounds really good, but you better have deep pockets. League of its own, Kind of looks like a chamber style with straight through internals. No packing
-- Borla Exhaust. As mentioned earlier, Sounds really nice when done right! The XR1 is a bullet style muffler and usually louder, then they have the pro xs ( I think its called ) which is a bit more tame
-- Magnaflow Exhaust. Similar to the borla but much cheaper and a few more options. The round case ( bullet style ) comes in many different lengths and the oval case comes in many configurations as well
-- Dynomax Exhaust. Again similar to the magnaflow and borla. Many different configurations and styles
-- Hooker Exahust. The areochamber is more of a chamber type muffler but sounds pretty good when used without cats
-- Dynapro Exhaust. Falls in the bullet category, but sounds decent
-- Bassani Exhaust. By far my favorite, but very little configurations. Its kind of a chamber type muffler but has non packed flowtubes, vs chambers
-- Flowmaster Exhaust. By far the most popular, sounds like rocks in a tin can, raspy, and they drone like a Mother F^cker. Honestly id rather have stock exhaust

-- Race bullets from dynomax are really loud and don't have a lot of tone, but sound good when set up with the right set up
-- Glass packs. Every manufacturer has them. Personally, I don't like them, but maybe the next guy does. They are stupid cheap.
-- Knock offs. Again, the are everywhere and some sound good and other don't. Usually really cheap, and that reflects on their construction as well

there are so damn many different kits and mufflers. Best advise is to listen to them in person if you can, then decide. The most popular are listed above!

I can tell you this, most when used without cats can be raspy! Everyone has their own opinion on what sounds good and what doesn't! My personal fave is the Bassani! Too me is sounds awesome, but its difficult to find them in a kit! they do have 2 different types of muffler. The QT is the more tame of the 2. Its an oval case and pretty large for an aftermarket muffler. Then they have a bullet type which sounds pretty good too! The universal muffler only comes in 2.5" and I have never been a big fan of bottle necking the piping down and that is why I have Magnaflow!

Or you can be like me and have 2 totally different set ups.
1. 3" pipe with a cut out and a Magnaflow 22" into a 3" tail pipe that exits in stock location. Everyday use
2. 3" pipe with a HF cat and a MAC Muffler, that installs in the same stock exit 3" pipe. Emissions use, or when I get bored with the magnaflow and want a different tone

Good luck! I have had all of these systems but the corsa, and I cant justify $1300 for a catback so ive never had one, but the ones I have heard sound amazing, and the tips look insane
