1200 bucks, fuck if i were to spend that just on rear gears, i would save up and boost it

it sounds like a lot but take into account that this is a 2014, GM changed the differential. Only 1 company is making these. It's with OEM gears. As far as i have seen this is the only option. No point is doing a blower with an open 3.08 rear diff.
