IIRC GM says that the motor can consume 2qts every 7500 miles is within spec and that you just need to top it off. even on a brand new truck.

generally you will get a low oil light before you lose oil pressure.
That's what they spit out at me at first, but never got any sort of light saying it was low. Hopefully it's just a bunk oil level sensor and its just normal consumption.

Hope so. But I think it's ridiculous that GM or any manufacture claims that much oil consumption is normal :nono:

My boss told me about this the other day. I forgot about that
Hope so. But I think it's ridiculous that GM or any manufacture claims that much oil consumption is normal :nono:
My wife's does in her Camry. 1 quart between oil change

Lol we never even came close to getting snow. The temp has started going back up now so I doubt we will at all.

So here's a quick end of the day update on the truck. The oil sender unit was filled with sludge and the oil was 'black'. They were able to save the oil for me so I can have an analysis done. This explained why I had the oil pressure issue and the CEL, but still doesn't explain the consumption. They are still working on it, so hopefully I'll know more when I get it back tomorrow.
