On the contrary, most builds I've seen have gone with either 3.42s or 3.73s and have had good results

if you're going with a 80e it might be a good idea to keep the 4.10s in for now and see how you like it with the longer first gear

Right but he'll also run out of the boost quicker. Boosted vehicles like a taller rear gear most times. My experience and research is more with cars and especially mustangs but it still applies, especially since his RCSB is relatively light.

Turbos like something to work against rather than just free spooling. Too much gear and you hit boost quick but your revs go by too quick and the tires can't keep traction on a hard launch and you get out of your power band or hit redline too quick.

A lot of mustang guys run 4.10s NA for the torque multiplication and it works perfect. Makes it faster every time. But every big power turbo car is running 3.27s usually, sometimes 3.55s because they make too much power too quick with 4.10s

I had 4.10s in the chevy and they were great.

I was also running a a 33" tire though

Maybe consider getting Robert Godfrey to build you a 60E. His performance prices are fully warrantied and very very fairly priced.
hes done several 700hp+ 60Es and some that consistently go 10s. Just in case you had any thoughts about staying 60E

Id worry about gears last. as most said staying 60e may be better for you to go to a longer gear but 80e you may want to keep what you have. Either way its personal preference depending driving style and typical use for the truck you may like the lower 4:10s

I like where this build is going and look forward to seeing the end product!!!!

go 4.10s or even 4.33s and dont look back. You need that gear to get that heavy truck up and moving.

I'd stick with 3.42s, the more boost you start throwing at it the more it'll like the load on the turbo. For low/moderate boost 4.10s would do fine.

Plus 3.42s will keep your highway rpms down and be more comfortable

Edit: what's necessary and what's preferred are 2 different things. It'll run fine and be a helluva good time regardless of what gears are in it. Run whatever you've got for now :imo:

I've been reading turbo threads over on pt, a lot of those guys have been suggesting, or even running 4:10s, 4:30s, hell even 4:56s. But, gears are not a priority right now.

Still looking at upgrading fuel system, looked at that hot wire kit, there were a couple different ones, so I'm just going to call them later. Going to run the walbro 450 probably. Still looking at different injectors.

Let me know what you end up doing for a fuel pump. I had just planned on running Siemens deka 80s. ~$350 give or take and bolt in with simply spacing the rail up. And give you a shit ton of room to grow.

400 will support plenty. Deka 60's are good to 600rwhp or so
