Figured this is appropriate.

Couple of days ago I had my Denali dropped off at the dealer (I'm currently deployed) for the first oil change and a couple of issues. One being the rpms fluctuate when the truck is stopped with the AC on (around 500-550rpms) and the other that there is a sharp noise whenever the truck is remotely started (like the starter snagging the flexplate).

First go around, they changed the oil, and then told me there is nothing wrong that the noise is because of the muffler I installed on the truck (lol wut) and they could not replicate the RPM issue (happens every time). I was then told the truck had the famous 35-60 mph shudder and that they flushed the TC 3 times per the TSB but now the truck is smoking and fluid is leaking onto the exhaust which you guess it, is caused by the muffler.

After being relayed this information, I'm fucking livid. I end up spending 25$ to call the dealership at 0400 my time to ask wtf is going on. The service director first tells me that the muffler didn't cause anything and he has no reason why his service advisor told me that. Secondly, he said he was the one whom test drove the truck and noticed the shudder but also said when he turned around the truck in a parking lot down the road and gave it some pedal, the truck blew out a massive cloud of blue smoke. Now I'm like WTF cause first off thats NEVER happened, second off wtf did they do. I replied and asked if they straight up overfilled the transmission and now its puking out the vents which he stated no they haven't even done the flush (more contradictions). He stated he believes it is because of the AirRaid JR intake tube that I installed on the truck. Take in mind i"ve owned 3 of these trucks and not one had that issue. Whatever..... He stated he was going to put an OEM one on and test and see. First thing on Monday.

Fast forward to Monday afternoon. I get a random facebook message from one of my troops at my home base stating he saw the Denali at the dealership and the dude was peeling out of the parking lot and the bitch with pouring blue smoke out the back. Yet, Monday has come and gone and I have not heard jack shit from the dealership.

Now I'm not tool well versed in GDI engines and know they have their moments, black smoke? Sure probably an ignition/injection problem. But blue smoke, and lots of it? Thats cot damn oil. Wtf......... Take in mind the truck still only has low 4 digit mileage.

they done fucked up your shit, and they didnt back story it enough to all have the same story.

Yeah, waiting till they open to give them a call. I'm GMT +5 which makes shit hard. Whatever they have done or whatever the fix is. I'm going to have it checked out either by another dealer or private party.

I fucking hate dealers. Only dealer service I've ever had experience with is with my ram, never before dealer serviced. Its fucking awful. Dealerships are the worst, and I'm convinced these new vehicles being built are even worse than the recession era units.
Dealerships hire idiots, and treat you like shit.
If they are tearing down a couple thousand mile engine. Do you really want that for X more years, and explain to someone when you sell it? Fuck that. Gimme a new truck and do whatever the fuck you want with that one. Went through the same bullshit with my ram. irritating as fuck

And those fuckers always looking for a cop out. My back window was leaking more than the fucking Hudson and they wanted to say its because the windows were tinted. Get the fuck out.

I suspect they are doing it to see wtf is the problem with the engine. I will not accept a repair on this motor, at the least, i will demand a new motor.

I dont want a new truck tbh, already spent $$$ on this one. If they sort me out with a new engine I'll be fine with that.

That dealership is a shithole. They’re the same people that said I needed to run 91 octane to get rid of an exhaust leak (they say its spark knock, clearly not). They do everything they can to get you in a new truck and then drop you like a bad habit.

Shady dealership. I’d have it taken else where. I’ve been working at a small town dealership for right at 4 years. I don’t the majority of the problems I hear about but I’ve done a shit ton of flushes for the shudder issue. Obviously they are shady as fuck. I haven’t seen or heard about any smoking like that. Especially with low miles. I will say the quality isn’t what it used to be. I should post the “quality” pics from the gm tech page lol.

Update 3.0

Truck is fixed and back at the house. They called in a master tech from a partner dealership. Found the PCV valve has been stuck open from day one. Replaced the valve and everything is sorted to include the RPM fluctuation. Rofl............................................

The wife's 18 Acadia Denali has left her stranded twice now, once it wouldn't shift into reverse at the grocery store and the other day just a dead battery for no reason. She is less than pleased and called the owner on his cell at 8 in the morning and made him send a truck to pick it up from the house. Nice car when it works correctly.

Been thinking hard on an 18 left over with a 6.2 but all these threads just turn that thought right around.

All the shit I keep seeing with the new GM stuff pretty much has me sold on a Tundra for my next truck, I was really considering trading Burb for a 17 or 18 in a few years(probably private sale and put that towards truck). As for the dealer service experience the only decent one I’ve had was with Audi, it wasn’t great still but better than any other dealership I’ve dealt with.

tyler, all dealers suck unless you know the person you are dealing with.

That being said, wife is looking for a newer SUV and getting rid of her truck. still going with GM.

She had 2 rentals while her truck was in the shop. A expedition and a nissan armada.

The ford wasnt bad, the nissan was cheap hunk of crap.

The 1742 model or whatever it’s called is decent. But everything else is ewwww. Buddy just got an ‘18 ccsb tundra and it rides a god damn wagon. Interior is cheap af.

But the rear ends don’t hum at highway speeds. So I guess it’s a give and take kinda thing.
