Receipt from original transaction. As mentioned, when my dad owned the car it was all in a plastic bag but when we got it back bits and pieces were missing, one of the owners of the car after my dad found this and dropped it by to him to give back to me.

As you can see car came from West Virginia from a dealership that's still open today. A 73' Vega station wagon was traded in on it.

You might be able to have that reproduced if you wanted a clean copy. And I'd keep that one laminated or in a frame.

Yeah, I'd definitely like a clean copy eventually but wouldn't know how to go about it. I have two copies of this so I'll probably try and get one laminated for sure. Wonder how far back of records dealerships keep? I wish I still had the window sticker even though I know you can get repos.

I need to drop the gas tank and see if the build sheet is there, as far as I know it's never been dropped so it might be there.

It's really hard time beat welds. Forgeline is pricey. Check deviate motoring. It's nine ball, one of the original owners of ls1tech

Awesome story, and congrats on getting it back.

Thanks! Beyond ready to do some actual work on it.

I agree, from a price stand point it's hard pressed to beat the welds for niceness. Love the Forgelines but at ~$5000+ price standpoint they won't be going on anytime soon, I'll set the car up tub wise if I need for what I want but it just might not fill up the space for awhile lol.....didn't realize that's who owned it but have checked out that site a few times, one of the few with prices.

Got a Grant steering wheel for the car for Christmas. It's identical to the one my dad had in it when he owned the car. He got it for Christmas from my grandma one year for the car and he wanted the car to have that steering wheel back in it so he surprised me with one for Christmas this year, it'll be awhile before it's installed though lol

That wheel is bamf, I like my Grant in the 88 but mines just the satin silver/black avenger

I always seem to think I reply but don't :whoops:

Appreciate it though! I'll replace the horn button but other than that I like it. Like I said though, at this rate it'll be a good minute before it's installed lol

If you ever end up in central Iowa before this gets an engine let me know you can take my spare just to get it on the road.

Definitely appreciate the kind gesture, bro! My dads talked about snagging something cheap to throw in there because he wants to put it on the road and drive it while we stack all the other parts for it.

Got offered a running 350 motor and trans out of an 80’s model Chevy, friend pulled it to LS swap for a pretty good deal. Really thinking of snagging it and getting this thing running and doing everything else as time allows and LS swapping last. Haven’t quite talked myself into it yet though.

How much, if it’s cheap you could at least get it cruising

It’s a good friend and if he’s not b/s’n he said he’ll let motor and trans go to me for $500. Pulled it in like Jan or Feb to get LS ready and still hasn’t gotten his LS back. Had the trans sold but guy never came to get it/bring money.
