I think it's about time for a major update. Starting last month we pulled the bed,
got the frame notched
painted the frame
installed the flip kit, shackles, and shock extenders
took the front end apart and completely rebuilt it while doing the drop coil and spindle
We also had to cut the bed for the notch, along with cutting the support underneath to clear the rear end, but after 21 hours in the past week of working on it after work, the truck is finally put together and sitting on billets. Dakota's chop is now a reality. It still needs an alignment, center caps put on, radiator, a/c fixed, and exhaust before scrapin, but the truck is sitting exactly how I wanted it at 5/8

Thanks man! It's for sure going to be a really fun little cruiser for me. Can't daily it around where I live because the roads are such shit and the clearance even after rolling the fenders is non-existent up front, but I'll be driving the piss out of it once the exhaust and a/c are both done.

Haha thanks so much man! I'm in love. The owner of MiniTruckerStore Tyler Nored is local to me and did it. Super cheap and he had it done in 24 hours. Would absolutely recommend.

Yeah, he has a shop in West Monroe called BentnTwisted Customs. I messaged him on his Facebook and had it all planned out that way. You can either bring your own notch and have him weld it in or he can fab one up for you custom. If you bring your own notch it's $175, and it's $300 if he has to fab one up for you, iirc

Truck made it just fine on the 800 mile round trip to Biloxi for Scrapin the Coast, so here's a few pictures from the weekend. Rained on and off, but the weather really wasn't too bad this year. Had a great time, but it's time to start saving for for a full engine rebuild and new rear end with 3:73s and posi also, when I got home from the trip, I was excited to find a little package from my good buddy Rob4x4

Advice from someone who rebuilt a TBI 350, bolt it to a chain, use it for a boat anchor. A stock 5.3 with a tune will probably get double the mileage and have 100 hp more

Long overdue update on this piece of shit. In the past year and a half, not too much has changed. Found a set of OG clear corner lenses and slapped them in

Then, a couple weeks before Scrapin the Coast in June, I ordered a new set of wheels for the truck. Truck ran and drove perfectly the 5 hour drive down to Biloxi, and many good times with friends were had

Unfortunately, the drive home I had to make a 2 hour detour to take a friend back to an airport to catch his flight back to California, and as I pulled up to the airport gate to drop him off, the engine lost all oil pressure, began knocking, and died on me. I pushed it to a nearby parking lot, oil was still up to the top, but the engine was toast. I let it cool off for about an hour, it started fine, and I limped it the hour and a half home, with oil pressure slowly dropping the entire drive. It was too late to cancel the order for the new wheels, and a few weeks later, my new 22x8.5/22x10 US Mag Flares came in

After having absolute hell trying to roll and chop up the inner rear fenders to clear the x10s, I finally got them mounted up, and I couldn’t be happier

I’d love to be able to drive it more, but I can only drive it for about 30-45 minutes at a time before the engine starts to drastically lose oil pressure. I knew from the beginning this engine wouldn’t last, but now I know it’s a total loss. Currently doing research on LS swaps, and I’m looking for a 5.3 to refresh and build up to put in in the next few months. I know virtually nothing about this swap so it’ll be a learning experience, but I’d really like to be able to keep all of my original gauges and have them all function properly. If anyone has any information or input, it would be greatly appreciated
