Welsh907's winter build

did you fill the water jackets with concrete or anything?

Yessir. They're filled to the deck. If this one doesn't scatter in the next year I'm going to go big and buy a full billet carrol carter block that doesn't have water jackets. But they're $6800.

nice, i always wondered how hot you could get them before melt down

my motor used to run on injected methanol with an unfilled block with water (didn't know better) the "temperature" reaches right around 225* before launch and gets to about 160 by the end of the pass because of the properties of methanol. Now with a filled block i can only read cylinder temps. Cylinder temps hit an average on 960* and melting point is 1170 (found out last year)

i have a 358 Small block that runs on alcohol, but not nearly as powerfull as your motor.

alcohol is sweet shit, i never had to run a fan on the motor.

Hahaha love it!

I love not having to run a radiator, water pump, fans. Saves SO much space!

my biggest issue lately is harmonic balancers, my class only lets you run a certain part number and i keep blowing them appart.

We had that problem on my moms car. Kept breaking the outer ring on the balancer.
We finally changed over to a different one.

Im glad I don't have to run a balancer, plus, it sure is cool to watch the blower belt suck up the harmonics of a motor.

So this for the silvy, right? I don't know how you'll see around it when driving.

Looks sweet man

Got it dropped in tonight.
Need to change a couple fuel lines, get a new pilot bushing, flow the barrel valve and then fire her up.
