Huck's 2006 Sierra Crew

Threw on my spike lugs that have been sitting forever. They're kinda ridiculous, kinda cool, I'm gonna run them for a while and see how I like em

That's why I have them, when I ordered the 20x12s. I love them on a deep rim. This, I'm not sure. But I've got em why not run em for a while

Nope, they don't. Plus they already know to stay away from the spikes I have on the front of my truck

How much smaller are the tires you have now? Did it make a difference in your MPG? I would imagine those tires are much lighter and ride better than the Trails?

BTW Before anyone assumes, I am not being a dick about this. I am just wondering what differences you saw.

I haven't put a tape on them yet but they're 285/55/20s. They're definitely shorter though. They weigh (according to a couple places online) 58lbs each compared to 77lbs each for the 305 trails. Same route home from work, I'd get 12-12.8. Now I'm getting 15-15.5 mpgs.

Wow that is a TON of difference in weight and MPG. Crazy how it still looks good without the meaty tires on it. I bet you love the MPG and reducing all that weight.

Absolutely. It's definitely a tad tall for this tire height but still looks good imo. It's much quicker now too, I actually have to be careful jumping on it when it's wet cuz it'll just blow the tires off. I can even sling the truck when it's dry, it's crazy lol

Wow...that's nuts. It is amazing to me how much the heavy tires KILL performance. I have honestly thought about stepping down to factory 20's to save some weight on mine. (just not sure it would be worth it)

You going to leave it like this, or do you have more plans for it?

I still plan on getting some even lighter tires and going down. Just gotta scrounge up the few parts and find the time

I noticed a big difference off the line from my 420s to trails.

Mine might could've done it but I didn't wanna risk grenading something. Now it'll do it at will

This makes me much excite to get my new tires. Going from the same trail graps you had to 46 pound toyos :cheeky:

live from the gutter trash.
