Talk to me about this. Im kind of confused with the clockspring idea. I know I need a new one. Is this where the new wire some from? So for this swap you just need a steering wheel and clockspring and dealer of course. May be going to pick up some steering controls tomorow.
the hard part is finding a dealer thats willing and knows wtf they have to do. Also, when you get a clockspring, make sure its centered....otherwise when u install it and turn ur wheel lock to lock...u might break it.
I have the PAC steering wheel control module for your head unit if you follow through with this, will sell cheap
The clockspring and harness p/n you should need will be 26101829. Then its just a matter of dealer programming, which like Eddie said can be the hardest part.

"This is the clock spring and wiring harness as a unit. They do not come apart. You un-hook the old harness and remove the clock spring and install the new one. You will have one extra plug that is not used unless you have quadrasteer, which you dont as they did not offer that in 06.The Dealer will have to program the DIC as well as add the option of redundant radio controls. Not as easy as one might think. They have to get the proper code from the tech line. Some dealers will not know this as they have very little calls for this."

Don't do it. Just bite the bullet and buy a new one. I bought one used and even though I went through and centered there was still a partial tear in the ribbon cable from when the fucktards pulled it from the column.

you need the steering wheel, the buttons for in it, the clock spring and the harness. then you will need to take it to the dealership and have them program the BCM for it.
I did it a few years ago. you should be able to do it in a night, mine took longer because my remote start is spliced into that harness.
