Yeah, DNW. My 85 had them. They don't open well, they don't seal well and they have that little flapper up front to deflect air when open and it molds all around that. Truck looks great Brandon, only thing I hate about those later ones are the mirrors. The OBS style looks odd on an OOBS. Does it have a body lift?

Yes, all that plus they dont look as good as a single. DGAF about windows that roll back when I can literally just take off the entire top lol. Yeah the mirrors arent good lookin, but theyre electric so I think theyre staying. We'll see. It has a 1" body lift, i replaced the body mounts last winter so i figured I might as well toss some little pucks in there as well. Will make it easier to get to 6" lift without using 4" lift springs all around.

Driving this until my truck quits trying to off itself. Should hear something from the dealer today.

For those who don't know, Monday on the way to work my CEL came on, nbd, I'll get the codes read after work. While out for lunch, I get the dreaded "Oil Pressure Low, Shut Off Engine". I look over at oil pressure, completely bottoms out at less than half throttle. I limp it back to work and park it. I check the oil and find the stick completely dry. Not good. My dad is in town so he brings me some oil, ended up being 2qts low. The truck only had 8k on that oil (amsoil xl, rated for 10k, ran for 10k last change with no issues) and the motor has less than 45k on it. Truck was running fine before and never gave any warnings, so we're confused as to where all the oil went. We decide to take it on up to the dealer and leave it there so it doesn't get any worse.

Tl/Dr low mileage motor drank 2qts of oil in less than 8k miles.

8k on one oil change sounds like the culprit lol

Srs tho that's nuts. I have no idea what it would be

How long do you usually go on an oil change dean? I usually go 7500 on my truck, was so busy I actually went 8200 last time and it was 2 qts low when I checked it at 7900. My old truck was always 1 qt low at oil change time (same 7500 miles too). Pretty sure that's normal

I should have been a little more clear on that, I'll fix my post. Last change I ran 10k on Amsoil XL and had zero issues. Used the same oil and same filter this time ant the OLM just reached 10% at 7.5k. I know some consumption is normal, but not that much on a motor with less than 45k on it.

If it was AFM related you'd probably have felt it running differently. Mines been acting up lately because of it

I know when when the oil pressure switch goes out or the screen inside gets clogged up it'll display the reduce engine power till its fixed. Think the rings have gone bad? I change mine when I get to 25% oil life. Which is about 5-5500k

Damn that sucks dude. Hope it isn't that or at least there's minimal damage. But if so, cam time lol

My oil pressure switch has been bad for a year. I've had the part, just haven't wanted to put it in lol. Mine doesn't reduce engine power, just makes the gauge bounce and zero out. Idk if NNBSs are different though about reduced engine power just from the sensor

I'm trying not to jump to any conclusions yet, just hoping it's something small and no damage, especially since this is motor #2

I know afm can affect it really quickly though, my mom's nnbs avy burned alot of oil in a short period of time due to afm. They had to do quite a bit of engine work to fix it.

That was their initial thought whenever we took it in. Said it could be a sensor or pickup tube. I would seriously hope there is no damage to the rings or anything else, but then again I didn't really notice a difference when the old motor was basically running on 7. I've been working with Eddie on the oil and my change intervals and haven't had any issues until now.
